yeah as far as stockpiling goes, toilet paper has been a pain in my butt, lol! I finally gave up hope of getting a stockpile of free tp and started loading up on scott extra soft 12 packs at kmart during super doubles over a 4 month span. I had 2/1 coupons that doubled so the 12 pack double rolls ended up costing 2.69 plus tax or about .24 a double roll or .12 a single roll. I did also use them during the kc cat promos and was rolling them, so I did actually pay less oop on quite a few of them than 2.69. But i have found that scott es is one of my favorite tps, so it worked out well for me. I also got quite a few of those clearance real soft packs at wag, and ackk i don't think i would do it again the tp is aweful. I have managed to get some free marcal in the past months but not a huge amount maybe 10 packs or so, i'm about out of it but have a few more coupons to use up soon. I guess the bottom line, lol is to try to get the best price on the tp brands you prefer, I don't think i would stockpile charmin even if it was free, don't like it all.

This is a hysterical thread - and yes I find it interesting. I also agree that I look to pay no more than $5 for a 12 double roll pack. I often buy the Big Lots brand or store brand only. I did score with the Marcal freebie and find that kind, OK, too. I tend to put the "better" quality TP in our downstairs bath, and the cheapie stuff upstairs in the kids bath. They don't seem to notice :)

Wish it was cheap here! Anything good for the environment (paper products area) is usually 50-100% more expensive. Almost $4 a 4 pack when I was looking yesterday :(

I'm with you. I've stockpiled so much of this that I won't have to buy any more until my 4 and 6 year old start college.

I'd love to stock Marcal, but can't find the single rolls. Anyone know where they carry the single rolls you can get for free in northern VA? I usually go with cottonelle or angel soft as charmin and quilted northern clog my toilets.

Try Shoppers Food Warehouse stores. When I got my FREE Marcal Paper Towels, I think I saw the single rolls at SFW.

Hope this helps--

The Shoppers in Gainesville didn't have them. The smallest pack they had was the 4-pack. Maybe I need to hit a few others in the area.

And I should also add that we are completely out of my stockpile that I had built in May. So bad, that we are using our emergency Charmin that my MIL brought. Cottonelle Ultra 6pack (double rolls) is on sale now for $3.99 (reg $5.49) and I have $1 coupons that exp 12/31. I'm thinking this is the best deal I'm going to get unless I can locate Marcal, so I'm going to stock up.

Default Re: Toilet Paper, It hurts my head!

I have had the hardest time trying to find a "good deal" for TP since I started couponing 7 months ago. I finally decided that if I can do better than Costco or Sam's Club, then I'm doing good. I started a pricebook of TP prices for anything that I could get cheaper than Costco (for the same brand and roll type). I only buy double rolls and only 2 or 3 ply (will buy other if it's free, but that doesn't happen much in LOND).

After experimentation, I've decided I highly prefer Northern and Cottenelle. Both for their "feel/effectiveness" and the fact that they regularly have $1/1 q's. The following are my stock up prices so far (remember, I've only been couponing 7 months, so these may not be a great deal for the experts and those with doubles):

Control group: Costco: Northern 2 ply or 3 ply double roll: $0.62 per roll (I try to get below this to make using coupons worth the trouble/hunt)

All other stores with coupons (these are the BEST prices I've found with coupons, not including RRs, ECBs, etc., just sale price and MQ's):
Northern (12 pk) 2 ply or 3 ply double roll: $3.99 or $0.33/roll best price with q's
Cottenelle (12 pk) 2 ply or 3 ply double roll: $3.62 or @0.30/roll best price with q's

The only place that has Marcal near me is Wags, and they only carry 6 packs. So, no free marcal for me.
