I use the liquid kind. Other than thtat I'm not picky. I still have some small & mightys when I got them for 2.99.
I'm just curious what you'd be willing to pay for for this since I can never get it free it seems.

I am a Tide user (family with sensitive skin issues and Tide does not cause problems), so if I was out of it I would pay .15/load because that is what I could get it for at Walmart. I would stockpile Tide at .10/load because live in LOND and my area only gets the .25 or .35 coupon, very rarely we get $1.

If any detergent will do my stockpile price is .05/load or .10 or less/load if I was in desperate need.

I have been able to get Tide and Other brands stockpiled in the last year for .05 to .10/load by shopping at Walgreens and CVS during sales, using coupons, and $/$ store coupons.

I actually make ours and it ends up being about $.01 or $.02 per load. So if I decide to buy a bottle it has to be close to those prices. Even if I get the trial sizes 'free' the tax still makes it up to $.05/load so not worth it for me to buy it. I have sometimes when we might be traveling and need it, but not usually.

I'm not picky about store bought brands, but it sounds like $.10/load is a good goal to aim for.

Not sure if you're still looking for input, but I shoot for .10/load and under.

Right now CVS has Arm & Hammer for $6.99 BOGO. So after 2 $1/1 Q's (IP's), that's $4.99/2 bottles (or about $2.5/bottle) of 32 load bottles (64 loads total).. which comes out to about $.08/load (rounding up).

They also have 32 load bottles of Wisk on sale for 2/$9. There's a $1.5/1 Q out there, bringing it down to $7.5/2 bottles, and then you get $2 ECB's back.. so $5.5/2 bottles (or about $2.75/bottle) @ 32 loads each = 64 loads total, which comes out to $.08/load (rounding up).

If you are a brand name girl, you can aim for .10/load or less. If you are able to do Purex, et al, you can go a smidge lower. Last thing I stocked up on was the Tide Total Care at Target for .12/load, but I have an HE washer and I use much less than they say to use. So it's probably more like .08 for me.

I have never seen all that cheap where i live. But i would stock pile any laundry detergent thats below 11 cents a load. Since that seems to be the cheapiest i've found for brands that actually get your clothes clean.

We bought an HE top loading washer on Saturday. I was blest with the timing of the wisk deal at CVS. I had a stockpile but of course now I don't. I have to say that besides tide, HE detergent only comes in the wierdest brands. I got 4 as we have never tried a brand before. It is still a stock pile for us because no kids here.
Don't want to go off topic. What board can I get HE detergent opinions on?

I got All small and mightys for bout 50¢ apiece when Shaws ran a huge catalina deal- spend $30 get $15 in Cats. Well, the $30 was based on *regular* prices, and it worked out that I would buy 6 at 3/$10, use 3 $1/2 coupons, then use the $15 OYNO. $2 plus tax!

I believe I did 8 trips this way- so that would be 48 bottles. I gave away about 10 so far, and the free and clear is now part of my standard baby gift! I'm down to 25 (and 5 bottles left of free and clear) or so now, and have started to look for the next super deal.

Now that I'm stocked up for quite some time, I stopped looking for awhile. Now I'm starting to look again, but I'm not willing to pay more than $1 for a 32 load bottle.

As far as other laundry supplies- I have only 3 bottles of liquid softener in the scents we like (I only use it on blankets and sweatshirts), 3 boxes of dryer sheets, and 2 of the big refill bottles of shout. I'm on the lookout for deals for these, but it is dependant on what is left in the grocery budget at this point.
