I am not loyal to a specific name brand, but I only use name brand soaps. I try to the powders whenever possible because you get more loads for the same price as the liquid soaps (or at least for what I have found in terms of Tide). Keeping this in mind, I shoot for no more than .10/load on a name brand (Wisk, Era, Purex) and .15/load for Tide.

My best buys for detergent seem to happen at CVS, as 40 load powdered Tide is consistently on sale for 5.99 & Wisk seems to be BOGO (no Era or Purex at my CVS). I have yet to find Tide at anything cheaper than $5.99/40 load powder. Needless to say, when these happen with MQs, I stock up, and currently have quite a few extra bottles!
Consider couponing for your local shelter: $30.00 OOP has gotten them 41 body washes, 30 deodorants, and a whole lot of toothpaste and toothbrushes to date!

Well I did really great on Purex this week at Shoprite. It is on sale for 2 for $5. I got a printable for $1 off one and it allowed me to print two times. That made it 2 for $3 and there was a $3 cat, makig it free. That deal is on through Saturday, so there is still time to get it.
