Coming to mind is (and you don't need to pre-cook the gb):
1) spaghetti
2) shipwreck with beans
3) meat loaf
4) poor mans salisbury steak
5) chili
6) hamburger patties
7) pastitsio
8) meat balls with maranara, or swill meat balls, either one works
9) beef stroganoff (or hamburger helper stroganoff if DH is cooking)
10) cheesy hashbrowns & beef (sounds nasty, tastes yummy)
11) Taco meat
12) brown some ground and throw it in the rice cooker with a package, or two, of rice-a-roni (spanish or beef works best) I don't really have a name for this, it's just something I stumbled onto a hundred years ago when I was first married.

BTW, I never pre-cook my gb, but I do have to remember to pull it out of the freezer. :shrug7:

That's all for now.
Can you share how you do #2 and #4? (I love salisbury steak, and always look for different ways to make it.) You can PM me if you don't want to disrupt the thread. :)

A. Fat and happy.

I was going to say it will put a comma in your cholesterol number.

.99/lb- holy smokes it never goes that cheap here. the best price we have on that is 90/10 for 1.99/lb... i've never seen the 85/15 go below that price!
You are very lucky to get gb that cheap where you live!

I found 3 5lb packages of the 80/20 on sale for .99 and they had 50% off stickers on them!!! OMG!

I made mini meatloaves and burgers, then browned the rest. I cook it with a little minced onion and steak seasoning, that helps keep the 'freezer' taste away too. I freeze mine in 1 cup portions in ziplock bags. 1 bag is perfect for hamburger helper or meat sauce for spagetti, or 2 bags to make chili.

Am I the only one who uses freezer paper to wrap raw meat? Really like reading everyones deals on ground beef. Best lately has been $1.49 lb. I'd go bonkers at .99 lb

Great deal! I just had my new freezer delivered 4 hours ago!!!!!

When you make hamber patties to freeze, how exactly do you do it. I know to make the patties...do you add anything to the ground beef as you shape it into patties? Then do you freeze them in ziploc freezer bags? Do you have to put anything between the patties?

Thanks....I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to freezing meat:( But I am bound and determined to learn!

You might want to save some money for a foodsaver. It's great for freezing meat. It vacuums out all the air so that you can lay it flat in the freezer. We have one and I have froze meat and it lasted forever. I'm getting my new stand freezer for Christmas from DH. I can't wait to cook up meals ahead of time. It's a real time saver.
