| kmickeyd's Stockpile Pics Okay! I thought I'd take a few minutes and post my stockpile before I clean it out to give to my sisters and donate to flood victims in our area. This took me about 9 months to do. I have you guys to thank - this has been an awesome ride!
The food pantry:
Makeup:

| Re: Inspiration - Stockpile Pictures! Ack! Lost my second post!
Okay - these 3 show the shelves my dh put up for me. They are most of our H&B stuff.
(The bag on the side is full of tin foil...):
Going down a little bit (the box in the back has about 30 bottles of Vive Pro shampoo & conditioner):
And the very bottom (in the back of the pic are about 10 glucose monitors...and 2 boxes for the rummage sale...):
One more post!

| Re: Inspiration - Stockpile Pictures! Last one - this is a little cabinet we got at a rummage sale for $2. I love it! Perfect for smaller cans and toothpaste, deod, etc.
The first bucket pulled out holds razors, the second has deoderant.
And...just because you couldn't see my toothpaste very well...
That's it! I'm seeing what I can donate to local flood victims here - unfortunately, most places want cash and not the actual items. Our local food pantry won't take non-food items.

That is crazy that they won't take non food items.
Maybe it is because they don't have the storage space for it.
Hmm.. you might want to try the Salvation Army.
Very nice pics btw |

Very nice pics btw | I agree - it's very frustrating. I even offered to bring it by the days that they are open, so they don't have to store it - they can just hand it out right away that day. They won't take it. I was very bummed - it's such a blessing to be able to get the "stuff", and no donations. Especially with the flooding around here - so many people could use the H&B things (loads of stuff for cleaning from the Red Cross is in the area already).
Great idea on the Salvation Army.
Otherwise, it's going in our rummage sale pile. I'll like the bump for our snowball for debt, but I'd really rather give it to people around here who need it...

We have been doing that also, so we can put all the extra money towards whatever step we are working on at that time with DR. |

If the people are hurting b/c of the floods, they'll be turning to the churches for help. Offer to Catholic Charities (I'm not Catholic but man, these ppl are the first to step up and help in the community, ya know?), and other larger churches in your town. I bet some of them already have outreach programs, pantries, or could use a stock of this kind of stuff for when ppl call and say they need help.
Also, check with the military Family Readiness Group if you can find a base or NG armory, b/c they usually know who can take stuff like that. I know if you called our FRG leader she'd hook you up with an organization that does care pkgs for the soldiers and is always in need of HBA items-so don't give up just yet if you really want to donate, just try different places. Also, don't forget homeless shelters and battered women's shelters, both are usually in desperate need of HBA when ppl show up with only the clothes on their backs, you know?
HTH!

The WS in our local "big city" just moved and before they weren't wanting extra donations because of having to pack it to move, but now they're in their new building...I'll call them again.
And thanks for the idea on the NG, etc - hadn't thought of them, either.
Thanks!

| Re: Inspiration - Stockpile Pictures! Speaking of NG, you can also send some of your things to the soldiers. Operation Shoebox is one of them & Adopt a soldier. You can fit a lot of heavy items (canned goods, soap, shampoo, etc) into a flat rate priority box. It goes to a base & gets sent onto the locations.
