My stockpile is pretty tidy, but it's on plastic shelves in the garage, which are not my ideal storage solution! | That's what mine were on a Home Depot special that was starting to cave in. which of course makes things roll everywhere... Costco had the Gorilla racks for cheaper than the plastic ones at Home Depot. And now DH has the plastic ones

well, this is just me, but I try to reevaluate and donate every three months. For example, I don't use much soup during the summer, so if it's going to be sitting for six months, I'll donate it while it's still fresh.
If I get it for free, it's no stress to donate it, or even to dump it. I don't donate expired items, and after three months it's usually still fine. But by that time, I can think...hmmm, haven't used any of that, might want to donate a few. Or maybe I've found something I like better. Or, we've changed eating patterns, more healthy food, or more meat or less meat
I also tend to stockpile things that have a LONG shelf life. Free Ketchup will keep for years, Electrosol will keep. Potato chips taste stale relatively quickly, so I rarely have more than a few bags on hand.

And they are really strong. We are still cleaning out the basement, so I may end up moving stuff out of their and using it for books again, but right now I like it for storage.
The matching ones with the sports drinks, etc., DH built. The shelves are adjustable, so there are giant books are some shelves, and then the remaining space which is too small for anything makes a perfect cubby hole for coffeemate, protein drinks, boost, etc.
The big, super deep wood cabinet in the garage with Kleenex and dusters and stuff DH built around 20 years ago, and it's also super strong. I just moved all the drinks, juice bottles, cans, pasta sauce, etc., out of it and down to the basement on the gorilla racks, where it's cooler for storing food.
I prefer the cabinets with sides and backs, because I hate bumping things and having the whole pile fall out! But DH likes the gorilla racks :)

<as i mumble under my breath, you want it, work for it!>:mad6: | Wow, your husband is inspired to cut out coupons! That's amazing! My husband HATES clipping coupons (and I've posted before, but he recently said it CAN'T be that hard to organize coupons and keep them up to date...so I told him to take his best shot at it...and now neither of us can find a thing! )

LOL | Yes, it is...peanuts, some cereal bags that had lost their seal and are stale, and some snacks we don't like...the squirrels love it, and it keeps them away from the bird feeder where our Cardinals are chowing down :)
