Every area is different and prices are different. So what I've done is I've kept a price log of when things go on sale. So I can see whats the lowest price i've ever seen on an item. That way I know when its a good deal. Like for example regular price ground beef here is 3.50/lb. My stock up price is 2-2.50/lb. On hygiene products I stock up when I can get say a bottle of shampoo for free-1.00. It took me a few months to figure out what was a deal for my area but the price log helped a ton since I have so many other things to remember. But now its second nature and I can tell you the price of just about anything.Good luck.

Thank you ErikGrl71 for your response. I'll try to start up my sale log. I did find at our Target the 75% off all halloween stuff. Stocked up on some papertowels (2 pk. bounty), napkins and puffs kleenex all for .97 ea. My cool find.
