I use french onion soup (canned not powder) in my meatloaf. It's soooo good! Just put some in the ground beef and then add egg, seasonings of your choice and bread crumbs to bind. I top it off under the broiler with a ketchup and worchestire sauce mixture.
I also use this to cook roasts in, in the crockpot. Enough liquid to cover the roast. I slice up a large onion really thin and add that as well. When done, I slice roast thin for french dip sandwiches and use broth to dunk them in. With the leftovers I make open faced hot roast beef sandwiches. I just thicken the remaining juices/liquid with a little butter and flour.
