    Default Recipe for stockpiled fruit

I was just wondering what you all do with your stockpile fruit. Do you have a recipe for some sort of a cooked dessert/ cobbler/ crumble type thing?

What would happen if you just sort of dump a few containers in the crock pot?

Currently, I have Dole mixed fruit in light syrup (pineapple, apple, pears, peaches), Del Monte Tropical medley (pineapple and papaya), and lots and lots of cans of pineapple (crushed and sliced).

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Bonus points if they are easy and required very few additional ingredients.

    Thanks!

I have on several occasions dumped the cans of fruit w/ the juice into a baking dish, dumped cake mix on top. I dot top w/ butter an bake till browned. I've used all kinds of combinations of fruit and cake mix flavors an it has always turnened out great.

I have yet to get an abundance of canned/jarred fruit, as it is eaten too quickly. Fresh fruit is the best, but it's SO DANG EXPENSIVE!!

Just yesterday DS2 grabbed an apple from the display, so DS2 wanted one too. $2.51 for 2 apples!!!!

Canned fruit is great for a simple fruit salad
    1 can mixed fruit
    1 can pineapple (or peaches)
2-3 bananas, sliced (optional, of course) you can also add whatever other soft fruits you like
    1 tbs. honey or syrup
squeeze of lime or orange juice
    cool whip

Stir together lime juice or orange juice and syrup or honey. Toss with fruit and top with whipped cream.

    Cocktail franks

1 lb. cocktail sausages, or sliced smoked sausage or hot dogs
1 can pineapple chunks, drained, 1-2 tbs juice reserved
    1/2 cup bbq sauce

Combine ingredients with reserved juice into crockpot. Heat on low until hot, about an hour. Serve hot right out of the crockpot.

My kids will eat any fruit right out of the can. I put the syrup or juice in ice cube trays and add it to smoothies, or just add the cubes into water or koolaid.

Canned Pineapple is great on top of pizzas.

Throwing it all in a crockpot, you sure can.

    Fruit Crumble Crockpot
Lg FruitCan - fruit salad or any canned fruit about 1200g
    2 T apricot preserve (Jam)
    1 t rum or vanilla
    Topping
    1 cup oats
    2 T all-purpose flour (plain flour)
    3 oz butter
    1 tbls honey

1.Put fruit in crockpot with liquids.
2.Cover and cook for 5-6 hours on low.
3.For the topping. Melt butter and honey together. Either in a small pan on the stove top or for a few seconds in the Microwave.
4.Next combine all topping ingredients in a bowl, stir to distribute butter evenly.
5.Sprinkle the topping on top of the fruit.
6.Cover and cook for a further 2 hours on High.
    7. Serve over ice cream or with whipped cream.

    OR

After step 4, move fruit (thickened a little with corn starch on a stove top) into pie shells and sprinkle topping over pies, bake in a 350 oven until crispy on top. (I never timed it so I don't know exactly)
