Default Po mans Potatoe Soup

1 onion sauteed
1pkg hot dogs
6-8 potatoes-cooked, peeled, sliced - at least 1 for each person
1 cup vegtables-whatever is on hand
2-4 chicken bullion cubes
Pepper (no salt- the cubes and hot dogs have plenty of salt)
Milk
Cream or half and half

Put onion, potatoes, 2 bullion cubes and vegtables in pan. depending on how much you have I fill the pan halfway with water, and 1/4 of pan milk. Cook over low heat, add pepper as disired. Add hot dogs, cook until hot dogs are done. Add more bullion, just be careful not to get too saltey. Shut off stove, remove from burner add cream. Serve. Good with crackers, buns, butter, Jelly.

Default Re: Hot Dog Recipes?

I was just going to post my "recipe" for hot dogs wrapped in biscuits!

I still have a freezer full of dogs--veggie dogs too, so I needed to figure out a way to use all the biscuits that I got recently too.

All you do is roll out the biscuit with a rolling pin to create an oval. I let it stick to the rolling pin and wrap 2/3 - 3/4 of the way around. Then I peel it off and wrap it around a thawed dog. Place on a lightly greased pan, otherwise mine stick. Then bake @ 350 for ~10 minutes or until nicely browned. I'm thinking this would be a good kid's b-day party sandwich. You don't even need the condiments!

I saw this on Rachel Ray, you make sloppy joes and use both hamburger and hot dogs. Here's the link: Sloppy Joe Di Maggios - Serves a whole team of 9 little leaguers! Recipe : Rachael Ray : Food Network

I tried making them fried, but it's hard to get the batter the right consistency to stick to the dog. These are healthier anyway.
