What are the changes in reedeming used ink cartridges? - Page 3

I wish I would have found this thread about two hours ago.

I went to Staples prepared to use my $6 that I would get for the two ink cartridges I took in towards my purchase of some dry erase markers.

I bet they redid their system because of people like me.

I would go in with three ink cartridges and use them immediately to get $9 off my purchases. Yup...sure would.

But now you can go in there with a $100 rewards check and use it all at once. It's actually easier in some ways.

The story I heard about why was due to employee theft...employees were stealing the coupons, then using it themselves, or selling them on ebay. This way it's tied to your rewards card...harder to steal!

I used do the same thing. In fact, the cashier was the one who suggested it to me. "You can use these today on the things you're buying."

I didn't know they changed it, so I'm glad I read about this. I'll be getting some new ink in a day or two, and I would have been expecting the $3 too.

They better mail those rewards quickly once the quarter ends. I need ink cartridges, paper, etc. and I refuse to buy anything at Staples without ink cartridge coupons. I've been going to Costco, and once I get my rewards, I will spend the entire thing in one trip and then return to Costco for the rest of the quarter. With the coupons, I would have been forced to shop at Staples multiple times. Dumbest marketing plan EVER.

Last time (April) it took about a month before it arrived.

So, assuming the same inefficiency, we'll get the rewards certificate in late July.

WATCH THE EXPIRATION DATE!

They mail the coupons back supposedly credited to your Staples rewards account. I never get my coupons in the mail though so I'm highly skeptical of this!
