Question about Staples ink rewards

I have 5 cartriges ($15 worth) and I want to try to use my rewards for school supplies. How long does it take to get them, and when will they expire? Would I be better off taking them somewhere else? I think there is an Office Max in the same area.

I don't know exactly how long it takes for the check to arrive, but it seems fairly quick to me. I just spent my last one, but I think it had 30+ days for expiration. Not positive.

The good news is that the rewards are doubled this month IF you also buy $39 worth of HP cartridges. I think my math is right here, but check the website.

$40 for new cartridge/s
Double rewards for the new cartridge.
Double rewards for the empty cartridges.

$40-8(new reward)-30(Empty cartridge reward)=$2

You'd have to put up the $40 first though.

CORRECTION: The rewards for the empty cartridges are NOT doubled. Sorry about that.

"A monthly Reward will be mailed to you when you've earned $10 or more. Balances less than $10 roll over month to month and expire at the end of the calendar quarter if $10 is not earned. If you've already earned a Reward within the calendar quarter, you will be paid for any balances greater than $1 at the end of the quarter.
Rewards are mailed within 30 days after the end of the calendar month and delivery can take up to three weeks. "

If you get them in today you will have your check around the end of April, middle of May, plenty of time for school supplies. I think you have about 3 months to use them, not sure as I have a premier account so mine are 6 months. Sign up to get your rewards through email and they will come a little faster.

The double ink rewards this month will NOT double the reward you get for each cartridge, it is just that you get 20% back for buying ink instead of the standard 10% back you would normally get. You will get exactly $15 back for your cartridges whether you buy ink or not.

I think stacyloucks has this promo confused with one a few months ago where you got $6 back for each cartridge when you spent so much on ink--that was awesome but unfortunately it has ended.

Unfortunately I no longer own a printer of my own, and do not need to buy ink. I have an Office Depot near by, trying to find more info on their recycle program too.

I'll contact Staples tomorrow and see if I can get an answer on the expiration time frame for the rewards.

Staples rewards for recycling ink cartridges are now EMAILED during the 2nd and 3rd week of the following month. If you were to turn your cartridges in during April, you would see your rewards in mid-May. They expire 90 days out, which is perfect for school supplies!

Actually, that is for regular rewards, like the 10% you get back on paper purchases. Ink rewards are mailed (or emailed if you sign up for that) monthly and have no minimum. You can turn in a single cartridge and get a $3 reward check if you want to.

I actually work at a Staples store in Pittsburgh as their PC Technician so I'll provide you with a bit more info on the program we have. The limit is 10 per month on the cartridges for a regular rewards member (20 if you're a premier member) You also get 10% of your ink, paper, and cpc (copy and print center) purchases back in rewards. The coupon is good on almost anything in the store except select things like gift cards and postage stamps. We do have everything setup through email now though so if you're already a member and have not given them an email and are not getting a reward coupon please be sure to call the number on the back of your card or visit the website to get that taken care of.

Question on the ink recycling:

Is it a rolling 30-day or a calendar month?

Example: If I take in 10 cartridges on 3-30, do I have to wait until 4-30 to take in 10 more, or can I take them in on 4-1?
