HP Ink not included in Staples Rewards Program?

Hello:

I'm copying this from the page about Staples Rewards Program and ink cartridges from their website...

"Purchases on supplies products manufactured by Hewlett Packard are excluded. Upon redemption, no cash/credit back."

What exactly does this mean? Not sure... Here is the website page it was taken from...

I know for sure they take HP ink cartridges back for the $3 recycling....It looks like you won't get credit for purchasing things made by HP. I just purchased 2 reams of HP paper today, I will let you know if I get credit for it.

Ink Recycling ...

"You can recycle ANY ink cartridge - no matter which brand! This includes Brother®, Epson® and Canon ink or toner cartridges, up to 10 per calendar month per customer and receive $3 back in Staples Rewards per cartridge. Limit one Staples Rewards account per address. We will recycle additional cartridges but rewards will only be issued for 10 per calendar month per customer. Your ink recycling reward will arrive each month, separately from your standard Staples Rewards statement."
