Staples Copy Paper Rebate Possibly Denied

I just rec'd an e-mail stating that my rebate had been denied for the (2) pkgs of Staple brand 8 1/2 x 11 copy paper on offer # 09-89641.

When I called CS, the rep was very nice. He said Staples had a software issue in the system that caused every rebate submitted for this item to be rejected. He did a manual override and apologized. I asked him if everybody had to call and ask for the override and I was told that was correct; Staples has no intention of fixing this themselves. It's up to the customer.

If you picked up that .01 after rebate paper, get on the horn and start calling. The number is 1-877-549-9794.

You will need your claim/tracking number for them to override it in the system.

ETA: Apparently the CS rep I talked with was not well informed. Others appear to have no issues w/ their rebates. My apologies for jumping the gun, although I would recommend at least checking the status of your rebate online. Many are showing validation in progress status.

what a scam. All rebate offers are banking on folks not following up. I bet only hcw.com folks will bother and keep track. This gets me so mad thinking of all the folks getting scammed by Staples.

Well I got a card in the mail Saturday saying I exceeded my household limit...Well since this was the only rebate I did , I will be calling them today....My account online shows the paper rebate from almost a year ago that I got paid for...but that shouldn't have affected my submission for this rebate....

Do they send you an email to say your rebate has been sent? Or does a check just show up sometime later? TY!

How did you get $17.98 when the limit was 2? I just checked mine and it says the check for $7.xx was recently mailed. This was the price of 2 packs.
