Yay!!! It really works. I have a computer that has just been sitting around the house for 6 months. I don't know if it got a virus or what, but we couldn't get it to work. I tried restoring it using the original cd that came with it and apparently the cd was no good.

So, since Staples is currently only charging $35 to repair any computer; I gladly took mine in. My only alternative was to take it to the dump. I wasn't sure if it would work, but I gave them a shot. They re-installed a new copy of Windows XP on it for only $35 total and it works like a dream. My kids are so excited to have their computer back.

Now, I am seriously considering taking my laptop in for a check-up as it has been freezing up lately. At $35 a pop, I almost can't afford not to. But, alas I do so much freelance writing online; I can't be without it for a couple of days. I'm thinking about taking it in first thing in the morning when they open, and beg them to fix it same day. BTW, they also have a coupon booklet at the cashier station for $$ of service.

Do they typically check it in-store?

My laptop is running VERY slowly...and I'd like to just wipe it clean and start over.

Yep. They worked on mine right there in the store. It only took a couple of days, as the more word gets out about this promotion; the busier they get. They have restoration cds and they also download drivers when needed. They really sounded like they knew what they were talking about.
