Price Matching at Staples

Hi, I'm pretty new around here! I'm still learning my way around all this coupon stuff, lol! But, I did want to let everyone know that Staples does do price matching. Just bring your flyer from whichever store you want to match. I am in MO and my uncle is a store manager at one of our local stores. He just told me this tonight, I had no idea. He said it is ALL the stores. Sorry if this has already been posted in the Staples forum, I couldn't find it. He said they don't accept coupons, but still the price matching thing I thought was pretty cool!

they do accept competitors coupons and yes all the office stores do price match. it's just who do they see as their competitors that is the main thing.

I'm assuming they price match any store with a flyer to bring in as proof. Wal-Mart, Target, etc.etc. I'm assuming this because the conversation started by me telling my Uncle that he had the best deal on the large pack of batteries this week. He said didn't matter they price match other stores anyway. Aren't competitors coupons and manufacturers coupons 2 different things? IMO competitor coupons would be ones used just in other office supply stores. Like if Office Depot had an in-ad coupon in their sales flyer. I'm going to ask him again about all this and find out for sure. Because I did come across another post that said YES they do take MQ. Might be just in our area that they don't take them? He has ran a store in another state as well, but that doesn't mean he knows what he's doing, lol!!!

i have no clue if they take MQ, as i have never had a MQ for items sold at an office store most MQ i think are for food and there staples and other office stores are very very limited. though i am not much of a coupon hound at grocery stores.

I took an office depot catalogue in and they matched the price of some paper that was on special

In the recent past I have seen Post-It manufacturer's cents off coupons in the Sunday newspaper coupon inserts.

Though I have never redeemed one at Staples, as long as the customer purchases the correct item, I think that Staples would honor that thar coupon.

They want your business (the office supply super store business is very competitive).

Staples even "Price Matches" their own website.
I was scouring ads and store websites (ex. Office Max, Best Buy, ...) looking for the best price on Turbo Tax Deluxe edition (w/o state). I found at Staples.com it is $39.99 - $10 Instant Coupon = $29.99 (Final Price).
The website listed one of the stores in our area having limited availability. On my 2nd trip back to the store after giving in and purchasing the program on the 1st trip for $39.99 [$49.99 - $10 IC](Dumb); I returned back to the store with the unopened software, receipt, printouts from the website that I had visited on staples.com, and more knowlegde from calling their customer service 1-800 number. I showed the cashier my pages and told her exactly what the gentleman at their customer service number had said, that the store will honor price match with their website. I was so tickled after she checked with her manager, she credited me back the difference.
