Just got off the phone with HP. Via MIR offer S129 on the 3 printers - The Staples Easy Rebate IS the Hp rebate - they just channel it through Staples Easy Rebate. Sorry, no double dipping here. Totally not fair!

Have I missed something here? I thought this mission at staple was aborted because we couldn't double dip anymore. Could someone please confirm this? I would love to get a free or nearly free laser printer.

I ordered it online and it says you need the serial number for the easy rebate so you need to wait until you have the package in hand.

I don't know. When I bought it, I decided that if I couldn't get both rebates I'd have to be OK with that. The price-per-page for my deskjet is ridiculous, so I'll get the money back eventually -- especially with all the printing I do for college!
