I just email staples also, and got the same response! It said easy rebates are staples rebates, and mail in rebates are from the manufacturer! I emailed back with the specific item and product number, so there will be no confusion. I am also going to keep the email, just in case one of the rebates is denied. I really don't need another printer, but this will make a great x-mas gift for my brother!

I am a bit concerned about this deal and here is why:

If you look up the printer online and click on the rebate, you are shown 2 options for the $200 easy rebate, each with a different offer #. If you look at the mail-in form version, both are sent to PO box 751144. That is also the PO box for the manufacturer printable rebate. In general, same amount, same dates, same PO # = Same rebate. Unless a new easy rebate with a different PO box shows up on Sunday I think I will pass.

I know you have been told that you can get both, but just because some CS rep tells you something doesn't make it true--and unless you have it in writing I wouldn't count on them honoring it. Yes, most of the time easy rebates are Staples rebates, but sometimes they are manufacturers rebates. I once bought virus scan software and got a staples easy rebate. Later, when I bought more anti-virus software my manufacturers rebate was denied because it was the same rebate that I had gotten earlier as an easy rebate.

Just got off the phone with HP. Via MIR offer S129 on the 3 printers - The Staples Easy Rebate IS the Hp rebate - they just channel it through Staples Easy Rebate. Sorry, no double dipping here. Totally not fair!

Are these all black & white printers only?

I did this same type of offer in February or March when they had a Tax software offer. I was able to do the easy saver and the Nova Development rebates for free software.
