Last year DH and I were both able to check out with the limit on each item. The lines were pretty long, so we only went through once. However, I don't think it would have been a problem to go through again. It's probably YMMV depending on the store, manager, cashier, way the wind is blowing...

Last year, DH & I were each able to do the penny items without problems -- of course, our Staples had just grand-opened.

last year the teachers here didnt have a limit, there was one in front of us and he had bought a ton of stuff he just had to show his id, you should call and ask...
