Default Gold Medal Flour kids cookbooks--are they any good?

There is a panel on the side of my flour to send in for cookbooks--are they any good? Has anyone received them? They cost $3.99 each and I don't want to waste our money.

Have you checked the website for kids' recipes? (I haven't, but that's always my first step before I buy)

No, good idea. I just got a cheap kids cookbook online for my boys and my husband was laughing that it had instructions for how to make bacon. I need to avoid more chastisement from the dh. =)

I haven't seen that cookbook, so can't comment. But Sesame Street has a cute little kids cookbook out and my DD loves it. We picked it up at a flea market stand for $5ish and it has recipes for like pbj and lemonade, but there's also thing like cucumber soup in it too and it's like 'big bird's lemonade' and stuff. So if you're in the market for one, I'd keep my eye out for one like that.

Back on topic, there's a few reviews on the amazon.com page, all of them are glowing ones: Amazon.com: Alpha-Bakery Children's Cookbook: Gold Medal Flour: Books And from the reviews I'm finding online, it looks like it's not a bad deal at 3.95. I may have to pick it up for us :D

We got one many years ago and my kids liked it a lot. It had real recipes, not just heat-and-serve things. But as I remember, the whole book is made of the same slick paper that magazines are, even the cover. So you may want to put it in a 3 ring binder or something like that so that it won't tear up.

My kids loved this book! It is a soft cover book so you have to be careful, but it had a few recipies that became some of our favorites.

I have never sent for any cookbooks for kids. There are many free and wonderful cookbooks for kids. But, the website cookingwithkids.com is a lot of fun. Why buy when there are so many websites to get recipes and ideas from. I say this as I have a kitchen full of cookbooks.but 100's of recipes downloaded from these websites.
