Where to recycle used Ink cartridges for money??

Not sure where to post this, but I know Staples and Office Depot have a program to pay you $3 for each cartridge. You have to be a member of their programs, I'm not.

Anywhere else that pays for empty cartridges from my home printer??

Why not become a member? I don't use Office Depot, but it's free and easy at Staples. The refund for ink cartridges is separate from their rewards program so even if you don't have $10 in rewards per quarter you will still get the ink cartridge refund. And you don't have to purchase ink to get the refund. You can drop off the used cartridges anytime.
And sign up for their weekly ad by email. Not only do you get a sneak peak there are additional offers for subscribers only. And once in awhile I get an additional offer. Today it's 15% off of your purchases for three days only. I intend to take back a cartridge and buy a couple more. Overall it's a good deal for me.

Just an FYI, beginning 7/1, Staples is reducing to $2 per cartridge instead of $3.

Thanks for the advice, so if i join Office Depot, do they mail a $3 credit coupon to my house? Can I buy something for $3.01 or is there a limit like $3/15? How do I actually get the $3?

With office depot you can't earn more than your annual spending. So you would have to spend at least 3.00 in order to earn a $3 reward. I only buy my ink from there so it usually works out ok.

I took 20 cartridges to office depot about a year ago and they said I would receive my reward card in the mail.... nothing ever came. I just throw them away after that. Too much trouble :(

Did you take them in all at once? I don't have an OD nearby, but I know Staples has a limit on how many emptys you can turn in within a certain period.. I wanna say there's a cap per day, as well as a cap per month, but don't quote me on that. They'll happily take all that you bring in at once, but anything above their limit doesn't net you the reward. maybe OD is the same way, although I'd have thought you would have received something in return for them.

Also wanted to know that our school has a fundraising partnership set up with Green School Project that gives them money for any empty cartridges that they send. We just have to drop them off at the front office at the school and they send them in and get $ back. A quick phone call to your school will tell you if they participate in a program like that. Great way to support a local school if you're just tossing them anyways.

i buy office max generic ink for my lexmark..lexmark is one of the cartridges they will take.... BUT it has to be the original lexmark..they will not take and give you credit for office max brand cartridges! so i have a box full of emptys hate to just throw em away but i am tired of seeing them...

Will Staples take them? I recently took in cartridges and one was a Walgreens refill and they took it. Worth a try.

i will take them in and see thanks! i thought they were pretty much the same.. and om is closer so.... ( its not far..just in heavy traffic and stop lights)
