Huck's buy a giftcard, save 5 cents per gallon of gas, and more...

Huck's convenience stores has an ongoing promotion where if you buy a giftcard, you get a coupon good for 5 cents off 1 gallon of gas. Buy 2 giftcards, get 10 cents off, buy 3 giftcards, get 15 cents off... and so on and so on.

The giftcards on the rack are for restaruants and various stores- Burger King, Applebee's, Steak n' Shake, Lowe's, Border's, CVS, AND Huck's giftcards. Father's Day is coming up, so you can do some shopping for the special men in your life, and save on gas, too.

I asked if I bought a giftcard for Huck's, and got a coupon, could I use it on that day's purchase of gas. I was told yes. On Memorial Day weekend, I was going out of town, and had to fill up my tank. I bought 8 $5 Huck's giftcards, and got 8 5 cents off gas coupons. I then used the coupons and giftcards on the tank of gas I bought that day. So I ended up saving 40 cents off per gallon of gas!

The cashier said "he thought it was supposed to be a $20 giftcard, but he wasn't sure and would let me do it".

Check the website, I think the fine print says that the coupons cannot exceed the price of a gallon of gas.

Thanks to meggers for tracking this down, but their website does not say the gift card has to be so much, it does say 'any gift card'.

The day I did the deal, it took a long time to get it all done. The cashier had to swipe and authorize each giftcard, and fill out a form for each coupon. Then I bought the gas, and he had to swipe each giftcard and subtract each coupon. Allow for extra time if you plan to do this. Still worth the time and effort to save on gas!
