Recall Smith's Food & Drug BEEF RECALL msg rec 6/26

I just got a message on my machine regarding a beef recall. The message said to return any frozen beef or the receipt for any invloved beef for a replacement or full refund. It also said I purchased the affected beef based on info from my shopper's card. I googled the recall and here is the info:

Thanks for the heads up. I checked my freezer and all the beef I have in there is from Albertsons or our local beef guy.

Ok-- FYI: I spoke with the butcher at my Smith's and "Ball Tip Steak, Petite Cut" is labelled as "Petite Sirloin Steaks" at Smith's. Therefore, I had some of the affected meat. I had it repackaged in my freezer and they took my word (that it was from Smith's since there were no labels just dates) and weighed my bag. I got back the over 2lbs at the current price of $3.99/lb. (I'm pretty sure I paid $2.49/lb). Now, I need a sale to replace the beef. LOL

Thanks Laura... I checked my receipts and I did buy any beef at Smiths in the time frame. We did have some of those petite sirloin steaks that I bought at Smiths in Feb of last year and vacuum packed for the freezer... They were good.... and I bought them on the managers sale bin.... paid 1.21 a pkg....
