Regarding Hurricane Irene

all of you are in my prayers.we here in mew york are getting a very heavy thunderstorm.

I hope we can all open our stockpiles to those in need!!!!

In Raleigh area, just some steady winds, rain, flicker of power a couple times but no outage.

No so on the coast - some areas are flooded and power outages pretty bad.

Thankfully this time around, we didn't have soaking rains prior to this storm, like we did with Fran in '96, we of course had much stronger winds then too but trees blocked all the roads because they came up by the roots due to soft soil.

It could be so much worse, downgraded to Cat 1 before it hit Carolina beaches, thankfully!

Hi everyone! Please check in and let us know how you made out! We're all ok here. Had some tornadoes touchdown in some areas, but don't know all the specifics of them all. No damage to my house/property and my aunt's house wound up w/ water in the foyer, kitchen and laundry room, but we're all ok.

We have power altho many in the area still do not. So happy to see today's sunshine!

We don't have power, so the food in the freezer will need to be thrown out. But we are safe, so that's what's important. One of my neighbors said it maybe the 4th before we get power back since they have to wait for the water in a nearby area to go down. (We live close to Manville and Bound Brook, both of which have several feet of water. )
