It's a really terrible week. I couldn't find any deals except for the Nesquik which was obvious to anyone who looked at the circular. I know that there are deals to be eked out for the $20/$20, but the coupon matchups just aren't there.

It figures the week I'm thinking of starting to look at coupons again stinks. I guess I get another week off.

I'm at least using my $5/5 Kraft coupons for cream cheese this week.

My refrigerator is getting empty, my frozen veggies are down to snap peas and my pretzel stash is stale. Had to buy peanut butter for the first time in a long long time. Still good on pasta and sauce because my kids have decided they don't like spaghetti now

4 lowfat Philly chream cheese @.99 = 3.96

Total: $20.86

Use 2 $5/5 Kraft cheese coupons Huddle to Fight Hunger | You?re Inches Away From Fighting Hunger.

and 4 Maxwell House $1/1 coupons (one of the 3 Kraft coupons still available as of this morning):
sign up to get the most out of kraft foods.

Out of pocket cost will be $6.86 after the $14 in coupons are deducted.

Plus will get the 4 $5 Kraft coupons for future orders

The down side to this is we don't know if any Kraft products will be on sale in the coming weeks, so it's difficult to know for sure how much those $5 coupons will really be worth.

Well the deal sure sounded better there...one post said it was working on shelf prices, and her example was 10 of the cream cheese (shelf price $1.85 and) and 1 Maxwell House coffee (shelf price $3.49). She used 2 of the $5/5 Kraft coupons and 1 $1/1 MH coffee coupon and got the $20 in Catalinas. with just .89 OOP.

Well, I went to Shoprite on my lunch hour and did the above PLUS an additional MH coffee with an additional $1 coupon and got no Catalinas. I don't know if other Shoprite circulars are the same, but ours here in Staten Island says the following:

"Qualifying purchases are calculated BEFORE taxes, bottle deposits and the face value of manufacturer coupons and AFTER ShopRite store coupons, ShopRite Price Plus club card deductions and any doubled or tripled value of manufacturer coupons."

So I didn't bother going to customer service to complain, because my purchases wouldn't qualify using the above criteria. And since I got 10 cream cheese bars and 2 cans of coffee for just $3.60, I didn't think I did so bad. I even paid $1.86 for 2 of the cream cheese because the .99 price is 4 per variety - I got 6 regular and 4 lowfat because the fat-free is vile.

Do you think it's worth calling Catalina? I've never tried that.
