What's that mythical thing you mentioned.........................freezer space...........................haven't seen on in so many months. Must be hibernation season for it.

but seriously, GF and I are considering an ice cream party just to clear up space, it's not going as quickly as I hoped.

Yep I am in the same boat no space in the freezer even with the kids having milk shakes the odd time. Its just not going and with the cold weather slower.. No where to put turkey if I get one.... plus watching my spending in the link attached. still waiting to get paid for being out for weeks now I should have thought about that last month went way over in the Oct challenge.

Just came back from shoprite and Check out woman made me mad today. I purchased the groceries and like always I had a ton of coupons. The older woman was frazzled. I took all the free items to the side so she can see that I purchased them. She still didn't know what to do.
So after I payed and was leaving I hear her make a comment to the woman behind me. " I don't know why they make this such a priority. It's just money.
I wanted to ask her to repeat that but it was a should I say something or stay quite moment. Of course I chose the stay quite, but now I want to say something.
I'm sorry I don't have an income every week like you and can pay for groceries, mortgage, elec, gas and health insurance.
This is a help to us.
Have anyone ever gotten negative remarks instead of positive?

Don't worry. You're not alone. Sometimes shopping there makes me miserable.

I was shopping late once just before closing - like 20 to 30 minutes and the cashier was talking to the manager about those couponers and how they'll still try to do multiple purchases at that time of night and will even go get rain checks. I lost the guts to go back to do my second transaction but I sure as hell marched myself over to customer service for two more rain checks.

Does anyone else go to a SR that limits doubling coupons to one per coupon? I usually have to go to newbies because they're the only ones who will let four go by.

Someone once posted an excellent response to this sort of thing & I have yet to use it, but will. "When you pay my bills, you can have a say in how I spend the money."

I have a cashier I hate too. She's an old timer too, always with a bad attitude about something, including me. Without fail, when I'm at her register, there's a problem with a coupon that involves waiting for a FEM. She's talked to other customers about me while I've stood in line waiting my turn. I know this because one time she looked at me, turned to the customer & said something at which time the customer then turned to look at me & since I was staring right at the both of them, had the good manners to at least look embarrassed before turning away. I've heard her complaining about the coupons & had suspected the bad-mouthing before. I avoid her line. I haven't complained about her because I don't see what the point is in drawing further negative attention to myself.

Sometimes they are just awful....sometimes they have issues of anger and jelousy.....whatever the case:

I am always as sweet as can be and might even compliment their new hair style or ask" when's your break" or "man it's busy today" or "are you ok? you look tired" stuff like that

but

Whatever the weather in that place....I pretend I am a mystery shopper at all times. So....I can be seen writing down prices, NAMES, checkout times. Sometimes I'll ask their name and compliment them (if I can) on their excellent customer service and let them see me writing down their name. Once I even commented to a 'witch' that "oh, that's good, your name and ID come right up on the reciept, how convenient.

Maybe I don't fool anybody but maybe I do.....It sure makes me feel alot braver and better.

I'm sorry that Shoprite gave you a bad time. me too....so I pretend stuff.

PK,

I DID used to mystery shop another NJ chain grocery store that is not SR but rhymes with HackMe, then I had to stop because my KID got a job there, making me potentially biased... and he made more $ than I did

The big tipoff to a mystery shopper in a grocery store is only buying $2 worth of stuff.. that is the amount for which you are generally reimbursed. Also, carefully checking your watch from the time to get on line to completion of order.

I also used to be often assigned a certain "intelligent" chain pet store and a big box store nicer than Walmart but not as nice as Nordstorms Those were often less than fun too. The WORST was the gas station.. nothing like buying $5 worth of gas at the priciest station in town, then asking for the bathroom key (4 weeks in a row yet) to tip them off. Sigh.. I do NOT miss those jobs at all... and I think I SAVE more by devoting the time to deal shopping and couponing than I made mystery shopping.

I have to tell you, when I hear some of your SR horror stories, I really appreciate my store. This week, I actually had a cashier lean over to the line I was on and ask WHY I didn't get on her line. She had her light off and didn't know it... but she always CHEERS me on with the coupons and once when I bought a bottle of Suave without a Q (it was 77 cents, we needed it and I didn't have any Qs left!), she asked if I had forgotten to give her the Q.. in an order of $80...

I can confirm that the Kraft deal works on shelf price.

I bought 3 mac n cheese 5 packs shelf price 4.28 x 3 = 12.87. used 3 of the buy 1 5pack and get a deluxe free peelie fromt the 5 pack. 3 x 2.39 = 7.17

12.87
7.17
equals $20.04

Received two $5.00 certificates on the bottom of my receipt.

hope this helps.

Actual money spent: $8.97 (cost of three 5-packs 2.99 x 3 = 8.97 (plus got back $10 in cert)
