Shoprite: Help! all you Jersey Girls (and Guys) Red Plum MIA?

I am in Central Jersey and seem to be encountering a coupon conundrum...I can't find Star Ledger's that contain Red Plum inserts. Is this the case for all of NJ? My Asbury Park Press still has them, but they are never as good. I won't bother buying them for 2.00 a pop if they are missing 1/2 of the goodies. So, what other newspapers are good for inserts in Jersey? I can't find any stores that have the Philly Inquirer. I did try the Home News and Tribune today, it's about the same as the APP and cheaper. NY papers don't seem that good. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

I have been finding the Red Plums in Thursday's Ledger, which is a major PITA as far as I'm concerned because I was going to step down delivery to Sunday only but now won't. :hectic1:

They've been doing this for about a month & the first week was the one with the Kellogg's insert inside the RP, which I had to run to the store & pick up the little local county paper to get. I never look at the insert ads in the Thurs paper unless it's for Black Friday, so it was a stroke of luck that I found the RP at all in the next week or two.

we used to get the RP in the AC Press, then at the beginning of summer it started comming in thefriday mail with the store ads.

The last 4 weeks, no RP in the mail box. Once there was an RP in the little free gazette that they throw on your lawn in a plastic bag.

I don't know what's going on!!!!

I subscribe to Star Ledger (live in northern NJ). Well.... it was all good till about last month or so. Papers starting to miss either SS or RP.
For the last 2 weeks I was missing RP. :sad:
Don't know why am I paying $27 for 3 months delivery if papers don't contain inserts that I want!!! :hectic1: Will cancel paper tomorrow.

However I'm not sure now what to do about paper? Do I subscribe to something else? Do I buy paper at CVS? Any advice?

I've been sucking it up and buying the home news. .75 less but still missing a few coupons that others might have gotten with and "good" 2.00 paper. I'd rather have all of my inserts with a few coupons not in it, than buy the star ledger and only get the inserts they choose to give me. Very irritating...

i thought it was just me but i started to buy the herald for 1.25 and the smartsource is not as good as the star ledger you do miss alot of coupons but so far i have been getting the redplum in it...hopefully someone will post here for a good paper to buy

Thanks for all of your replies, at least I know I am not alone or going crazy. I was beginning to think I was following a insert stealer at every store! Anyone know how much the Star Ledger is on a weekday?

i think its 1.25, i know its definetly cheaper than a sunday paper!! so they have coupons on thursday in there?? are the from the previous weeks coupons or from the upcoming weeks?? just asking because i wonder if coupons will be in this weeks papers since the holiday:shrug7:

I have not been getting Red Plum inserts in the Ledger for several weeks as well. The Bridgewater Courier News is carrying the Red Plum insert, so I have been buying the Courier in addition to my Ledger subscription. The Smart Source coupons in the Courier are generally not a good as those in the Ledger. I don't know exactly where in NJ you are, but my local dollar store sells the Ledger for $1, and the Courier for 50 cents.

I go down to the corner store (were they know me very well) and I go through all the different papers inserts to see which ones have the best. I saw that the Star Ledger only had one so I skipped it. I ended up get the Philly paper cause it had the $2/2 Kellogg Cereals. At the end of the day I go back to get the extra Pocono Record inserts which are not as good but I got 30 of them and there are a few good coupons in there.
