X OUTDATED POLICY ~ FAQs, RAOKs, Etc.

Hi everyone! I know some of you have wanted to post or have posted RAOKs for Shoprite coupons to this forum. It makes sense since this seems like the most likely spot for a Shoprite shopper to find them, but unfortunately, we are not allowed to post RAOKs to this forum. They must be kept in the appropriate trading forum.

When posting to the RAOK forum, please use the keyword "Shoprite" in your subject title so Shoprite shoppers can easily search for & find them in the RAOK forum.

You are welcome & encouraged to link to your RAOK in your signature, but unfortunately, a whole separate thread offering one is not permitted.

The only exception to this rule is when the forum mod (namely, me!) posts one to encourage traffic or participation to this forum. So, please don't report me when/if I post one!

ATTENTION READ THIS: P&G OYNO Catalina Roll Discussions

OK, it's official: the P&G OYNOs can't be rolled. There was an announcement about it posted to the entire HCW site by QOTHMO5 here (scroll to bottom): P&G Catalinas

So, it should go without saying, but there is to be NO discussion of rolling the P&G OYNO catalinas.

Any future discussions, brags, or scenarios posted that mention rolling these catalinas will definitely be deleted & W/I notices will have to be issued, which I am loath to do.

Now, if there is no wording prohibiting the use of those coupons on additional P&G products, that's fine, but the prohibitive wording is on many of the cats being printed & is likely to remain.

Me: I need penny and nickel stamps. USPS Employee: We don't have nickel stamps.
Me: OK well what do you have after a penny?
    USPS Employee: 2¢, 3¢, 4¢ and 5¢
Me: Fine. I will take the 5¢ ones.

Default Re: Read This Thread First: Announcements & Shoprite FAQs

Ack! I was cleaning things up & made it worse. Here's the c/p of what I mistakenly deleted:

    About Shoprite’s coupon policies
Shoprite stores are individually owned & operated, so policies vary from store to store. There are some similarities and a lot of overlap, but sometimes it can be YMMV. Please ask your individual store about its policies to confirm what is posted here or to prevent any unpleasant surprises at the register.

If you post a question here about a sales or coupon policy, please understand that the responses will probably be vague and general. Be sure to mention your store's location (town & state) in your post so that if anyone here shops in your area, s/he can better answer your question. And you will still probably be directed to double-check at your particular store (go to the courtesy counter), anyway.

    Sales & Circulars
    Weekly circulars can be viewed
One Place. Your Place. | ShopRite Supermarkets

Shoprite puts up the next week's circulars on Fridays; it can be seen as a link to "view next week's circular" near the top of the current circular.

The Shoprite sales week runs from Sunday to Saturday.

    Price Plus
Shoprite’s rewards program is centered around the Price Plus card. You can apply for a card at the courtesy desk. Or online: Price Plus enroll

    Coupon Use
Typically, Shoprite stores double coupons with values up to $.99. Some stores cap the amount off at $1 (so a $.75/1 coupon is worth $1/1), while others fully double (so a $.75/1 coupon is worth $1.50/1).

Typically, Shoprite stores limit the number of identical coupons to 4. Some stores only double up to 4 identical coupons while accepting additional coupons at face value only, while some don't limit like coupons at all.

There are a few stores that limit the number of Free item coupons you can redeem and some limit the total number of coupons you can redeem in any one transaction, day, or week. Please save yourself the aggravation or embarrassment & ask about your favored stores' policies at the courtesy counter.

Regarding multiple transactions, some stores will let you run back to back transactions, some will let you go out to the parking lot ("leave") & return to make an additional transaction, and some will only let you do one transaction per day.

IPs are also a YMMV. Some will take them, some won't, and some will one day & not the next. Personally, I don't plan a shopping trip relying on IPs and try to limit the number I redeem per trip to about 4 or less. Many stores have refused to accept any IP that reads "Free" or "B1G1," so check at the courtesy counter before you try to use one of those. I recommend using IPs to get free items only when the coupon value is equal to or exceeds an item's price, but doesn't read "Free" (for example, you have a $2/1 Excedrin IP & Excedrin's on sale for $1.99 = Free Excedrin, but IP doesn't read "Free"). Trust me, it's just easier than arguing about it.

Shoprite stores do not give overage. Coupons will be adjusted down to match the item's actual price. On rare occasions overage happens, but it's usually a mistake or the result of a sale/coupon glitch or cashier error.

Shoprite does stack store coupons with manufacturer’s coupons. I find it easiest to present the store coupons first. In my experience, on the occasions the cashier scanned the manufacturer coupons first, the register blocked the store coupon and it would not scan. Save yourself the aggravation of explaining the store policy or redoing the transaction and don’t present a manufacturer’s coupon before a store coupon for the same item if you plan on stacking them.

More about stacking: Some have reported the exact opposite, where they have to present the manu coupon before the store coupon. And others have reported no problems with stacking regardless of presentation. So, the lesson is to experiment. Experiment at times when your savings via stacking would be small (<$1) & you could just let it go rather than argue the policy (unless you want to argue it, of course). This way, if you know what your stores' registers' quirks are, you can manage them on bigger & better stacking opportunities.
