    Default DONE Shoprite 8/3 - 8/9/08

    Front page:
Fresh Pork Spare Ribs 4-6# avg, regular or Tender Choice, $1.49, lim 1 pkg. Again, there are $.50/1 tearpads for Tender Choice

    Boneless, skinless chicken breast $1.99/lb

Fresh AK Silverbrite Salmon Fillet, $4.99/lb, lim 4#

    Broccoli crowns, $1.29/lb

Kikkoman marinade, any 14oz (claims to be both "quick" and "easy"!), $1.99, lim 4/variety. There are hangtags & peelies out there, no inserts I'm aware of. Not as good a deal as the Lawry's a few weeks back (Teryaki), but OK if you're brand loyal.

darkwing listed the Dollar Days rewards a few posts below, so I'm just going to list what strikes me as a good deal, as usual. PLMK if I missed anything.

ETA: totally overlooked that sneaky, short first page that looks extraneous, so I missed the Kellogg's, the Con Agra, & the Pompeian items. I quickly few a threw obvious ones in here.

Obviously, for the DD Keebler's et al items, there is that $1/1 turquoise peelie that would make these cereals $1. But it took us forever to get through these from the last sale since it's mostly (all) sugar cereals that no one here eats, not even the 5 & under crowd, so I'm debating this one.

DD Keebler's et al items: Pop Tarts, 3/$5, mb3, limit 4 offers. There were pink peelies I found on a bunch of Pop Tarts that I think were off 2, but I can't find them anywhere. They were part of a tie-in to American Idol.

DD Con Agra items: according to TT, there's a coupon coming up this weekend for the Hunt's snack pack which is $1 this week.

DD Con Agra items: the Gulden's b1g1 blinkie is still good; $.50 each

    DD Con Agra items: Hunt's ketchup is $1 & there's a $.20 insert making it $.60/bottle.

Pompeian vinegars were discussed last week; I'll copy & paste in the info (someone made it a money maker, IIRC) later.

DD Unilever item: Lipton Tea To Go Stix, any, are 2/$4 mb2, lim 4 offers. The inserts unfortunately expire today, so not good for the sale starting tomorrow. There are some booklet, homemailers, tearpads, & it looks like a 10/31x insert in the database.

DD Unilever item: Lever 2000 bar soap 8pk, $4, lim 4/variety, this is $1.99 off MSRP if you're brand loyal; there's a $1/1 rolling IP in the database that brings it down to $3

DD Reckitt item: Easy Off Oven cleaner, cook top or stainless steel, $3, lim 4/variety. This is only a $.39 savings off the MSRP; there aren't any inserts (they're all for that BAM! stuff), but there is a $.75/1 IP in the database that requires you to register at Home Solutions News. So possibly $2.25 to $1.50 if the IP fully doubles

DD Georgia Pacific items: Vanity Fair dinner napkins are 2/$7, mb2, lim 4 offers. No coupons for the napkins, but there is the buy VF napkins + plates get free eggs tearpad making the rounds and there's a $1/1 insert for the plates/bowls if you need to buy these anyway.

DD Georgia Pacific items: Brawny 8-pk paper towels, 2/$11, mb2, lim 4 offers. $1/1 coupons brings these down to $4.50ea; if you were lucky enough to get the $.75/1 inserts & your store fully doubles, then $4 ea or $.50/roll.

DD Kimberly Clark items: Viva Big Roll or Choose-A-Size paper towels, $2, lim 4/variety. There's a bunch of inserts ranging from $.35/1 to $.75/1, so each roll could be anywhere from $1.30 to $.50, depending. Potential money maker depending on your store: since it's lim 4/variety & there are 2 varieties, you could use $.75/1 x 4 to get 4 rolls for $.50/ea, then the $.50/1 to get 2 other rolls for $1/ea for a total of $4 OOP & get back the $5 RR. Really depends upon your store & which coupons you have.

DD Nestle items: 10/$10 mix & match Nestle individual Giant bars/1-pk/Pearson Nips. No coupons I could find.

DD Nestle items: Nestle fun size Crunch, Baby Ruth, 100 Grand, Milk choc, Butterfinger, Raisinets, 2/$5, mb2, limit 4 offers. Again, no coupons I could find.

DD Nestle items: Nestle on the Go (looks like movie theatre-size boxes), 5/$4, no limits and no coupons

DD Nestle items: Juicy Juice 8pk fun size (are these the little boxes?), 2/$4, mb2, limit 4 offers. There are some IPs, home mailers, & this weekend we're getting $1/2 inserts

DD Nestle items: Power Bar Performance, 5/$5, mb5, lim 4 offers; some non-inserts in the database.

DD Nestle Items: Hot Pockets 4/$10 ($2.50/ea), again no limits. There are a lot of coupons from packaging & home mailers in the database that could bring these down a dollar or so each.

DD Smart Balance items: Smart Balance mayo, $2, lim 4. $.50/1 (popcorn or mayo) inserts bring this to $1/jar. You need to buy 5 for this deal, so you'd need to buy 1 additional Smart Balance item.

DD Smart Balance items: Smart Balance popcorn, 3/$5, mb3, limit 4 offers. $1.67, with the $.50/1 insert (popcorn or mayo) makes this $.67/pkg. You would need to buy 6 of these, but couldn't use coupons for more than 4.

Stonyfield Farm organic & all natural yogurts are $.69/ea. The organics booklet non-insert is $1/4, making them $.44/ea with the coupon.

Lay's potato chips (excludes light & baked) are $1.89

Pringles chips 10/$10 (excludes fat free & select). There are some inserts this weekend, but I don't know if they are good on the chips cannisters.

Lysol Neutra Air Fresh Matic Air Wick or starter kit is 1/2 price at $5.99; there is a $4/1 IP in the database for any 1 FreshMatic Air Treatment product. $1.99 with that coupon.

Purina Whisker Lickins cat treats are 5/$5; mb5, limit 4 offers. The database shows a $1.50/2 coupon that would make 4 of these $.25/ea, or $2 for 5 if you use 2 of those coupon & buy 5.

Ken's salad dressing is 2/$2, mb2, limit 4 offers. TT shows a $1/2 coupon this weekend, essentially making them 2/$1 with it.

Hunt's diced tomatoes & canned pasta sauce are 10/$10. No coupons.

B&M baked beans are 10/$10. There are the $1/4 inserts that would make it $.75/can for multiples of 4.

Kraft salad dressings are 2/$5, mb2, limit 4 offers. No coupons except those "$$ off produce wyb Kraft" & the "b3g1..."
    tearpads.

Australian Nature's Reserve boneless shell & rib eye steaks are $5.99/lb, which isn't bad for these cuts. In the past, this was a good-flavored beef, but I haven't bought it in a quite a while.

All natural Readington Farms chicken is on sale at $.89 to $4.49/lb, depending on the cut. It seems to be a 25% savings off the regular price.

Maine lobsters are again $5.99/lb for the smaller 1-1.25lb lobsters

Louis Kemp imitation crabmeat is 1/2 price at $1.49. That's per 7.5-8oz package; about 1/2 lb. I buy this type of thing at a local Asian market--in the frozen section they'll have these imitation crab sticks much like those you find in California rolls. It's tasty in crab dips & homemade sushi rolls.

Frozen or thawed (i.e., not fresh) Swai fillet is $3.99/lb, 1 off. Swai is also referred to as "Basa," but I believe they are actually two different fish. Swai is the giant Mekong catfish from Vietnam; it is mild, reminiscent of Tilapia, which is itself $3.49 for a 12oz pkg of frozen this week.

Salenville Crumble Blue, 4oz container is the Cheese of the Week at $2.99 ea. Maybe crumble over a grilled Nature's Reserve rib eye.

At the appy counter, ShopRite imported ham is 1/2 price at $3.99/lb & ShopRite liverwurst is also 1/2 price at $1.74/lb.

Pert Plus shampoo, any, is 1/2 price at $1.64, limit 4/variety. If any of you are abstaining from CVS' feeding frenzy on this, you can use your $1 and $2 from this weekend & prior inserts (and whatever else is out there) to get it either for free or for $.64, depending on your stash.

    Clean Clear
is 25% off this week, with a limit of 4/variety. BzzAgent coupons or the IP in the database for those who use this brand.

No coupons for the Noxema razors or shaving cream this weekend, which is unfortunate because they are $2.49 & 2/$3, respectively.

White Rain shampoo & conditioners are $.79, limit 4 per variety. No coupons

Sure solid or clear dry deodorants are $1.24. There's a b1g1 & a $1/1 any to use on this, pick your poison. The $1/1 presents a better deal for $.24, use the b1g1 at CVS to get even more for free. Can't use the $1 & the b1g1 together.

Sure Max deodorant, reg or unscented clinical is $3.75, limit 4/variety. There's a $2.50/1 insert that would make this particular variety $1.25

Reach toothbrushes are $1.49, limit 4/variety. If you have any of those $1/1 inserts, this would be $.49 ea.

Independent of the Dollar Days promo, there's a Look Right and Feel Right with ShopRite promotion. Buy $25 of any of these products on 1 receipt: $5 will be donated to ShopRite's Partners in Caring & you will get a $5 RR OYNO. Valid 8/3-8/9. Must use PricePlus card. Limit 1 checkout coupon during promotional period. I'm not going to do matchups; they all seem to be P&G items you'll probably find coupons for in this Sunday's inserts.
*Gillette hair care, all varieties, for men, $4.49, limit 4/variety
*Gilette body wash, body/face, shampoo, $4.99, limit 4/variety
*Fusion Phenom Power or Venus Embrace Gillette razor, $8.99, limit 4/variety
*Pantene shampoo or conditioner, any, $2.99, limit 4/variety
*Secret or Gillette Clincal, any deodorant, limit 4/variety
*Gillette Fusion shave gel, any, $2.99, limit 4/variety
*Herbal Essences shampoo, conditioner or styling, $2.99, limit 4/variety
*Olay Total Effects, Regenerist, any (excludes Regenerist Micro Sculpting), $16.99, limit 4/variety
*Olay Definity, any, $22.99, limit 4/variety
*Scope original, mint or peppermint, $3.79, limit 4/variety
*Clairol Natural Instincts hair color, any, $6.99, limit 4/variety
*Olay Quench or Firm body lotion, $5.99, limit 4/variety
*Olay Quench body mousse, any, $5.49, limit 4/variety
*Crest toothpaste, with Scope or Whitening, Dual or Squeeze, Multi-Care of Whitening, $2.49, limit 4/variety

ShopRite apparently has a Muffin of the Week to go with the Cheese & the Milk honorees. This week, the fuss will be made over Corn Muffins, pkg of 6 (or muffin tops, Seinfeld references omitted).

No Nonsense regular pantyhose, any, is $.99, limit 4/variety. Noteworthy because the ad mentions a $1/1 peelie on certain packages. If you already have that peelie or are lucky enough to find one still adhered to the package, this could be free.

Turkey Hill ice cream is $2.49, limit 2 offers. No inserts, but those home mailers I plug every other week would make this $1.49.

Andrea Ravioli (excludes lobster, but otherwise includes all varieties, so I guess that really should read "most varieties") is 1/2 price at $1.49. Furlani garlic toast is also 1/2 price $1.14 & the Mama Lucia meatballs are also 1/2 price at $2.24. And I might as well mention the ubiquitous Lucky Jade egg rolls or potstickers allegedly 1/2 price at $2.99. I see this every week at this price, either in the circular or store signage. So doesn't that make $2.99 the regular price? It seems like it's always $2.99. Thought I'd mention it because it reminds me of those "Going out of business" sale signs I once was a sucker for when I worked in midtown. They'd still there two years later, same signage.

Weaver chicken breast tenders, hot wings, nuggets, mini drums, popcorn, strips or patties are 1/2 price at $2.44. I can't recall the last time I saw a coupon for Weaver chicken. Probably the last time I bought it, easily over a year ago.

SuperPretzel & PretzelFils are $1.84, yes, 1/2 price. I have $1/2 8/11x inserts for the SuperPretzel $.75/1 for the PretzelFils, making it $1.34 for the pretzels & $.34 for the Fils.

None of the hotdogs have any coupons, but the best price are the Bar S franks for $.99. You guessed it: 1/2 price.

And rounding out the trifecta, the Milk of the Week is 1% at $3.29/gallon.

YoPlait yogurts are 20/$10, or $.50/cup. Light Whips & Light Thick & Creamy are excluded (they really need to use commas because I had to read this several times to make sense of it).

Lots of nice produce this week:
Tree Ripe peaches, plums & nectarines are $1/19/lb, limit 4#

Seedless watermelon is $.49/lb, as is the golden watermelon. I worked at a NJ restaurant when I was in college that borrowed (with permission of the inventor/bartender) a drink from a terrific NYC restaurant, NosmoKing: the watermelon martini. Light, refreshing, & packing a real stealthy punch, you run watermelon (the golden is nice & sweet for this, but regular pink is just as delicious) through a food processor or blender, then strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve or cheese cloth. Serve with vodka (Absolut Citron worked well for this), straight up, chilled. Yummy! Keep the juice in the fridge, it's delicious without the vodka, but not as much fun. And while I'm on the subject, here's a 6-degrees of separation story: I visited with a former office co-worker/friend in Staten Island & met the bartender who invented this drink--apparently she & he were old friends. I just happened to mention this drink & he started asking a bunch of questions. And it turned out that the NJ restaurant owner for whom I formerly worked was his child's godfather. I got the job at which I met my friend (a real-estate investment firm) through an agency about 4 years after I stopped working at the restaurant in question, so it wasn't a matter of moving in the similar circles or industry connections: she was NY/Brooklyn when we met & I was NJ suburbs. I have another bizarre 6 degrees story that has to do with the stars of F-Troop (believe it or not) with the same friend of mine, but it's not relevant to the watermelon on sale this week.

    Lots of fresh Jersey produce:
Jersey tomatoes, the only kind to buy, are $1.49/lb
Green beans (get the tender ones) are $1.29/lb
Firm & long cucumbers (be sure to avoid the mushy & short ones) are 3/$1.99
    Green pepper is $1.49/lb
Grape tomatoes, dry pint, are 2/$5
    Purple eggplants are $1.29/lb
    Chicory or escarole are $.99/lb
    and Zucchini is $1.29/lb

I was looking at the circular on line. Didn't anyone else notice that the Nestle deal says 'Buy $10 Get $5' not 'Buy 10 Get $5'. Since all of the other ones require a number of products to be purchased and not a dollar amount, I'm assuming the Nestle one is a typo. Is it like that in all the circulars?
