Default Really - No overage & No adjusting Q?

Was at Shopko this AM. Raid Max bug sprayer was on clearance for $2.49 I had 4 $3 q's. They would not accept the q because the value was more than the item. Was told by CSM that they only get reimbursed a "small percentage" of the value of the coupn (bologna) and that Raid wouldn't reimburse them because it was on clearance at their store. They may not take q's in that senario, but I did not buy her story, so I came home to get the store's policy. Low and behold I can't find one. Talked to store GM, who (very nicely) told me there was no Q policy, but they couldn't override the computer to adjust the value of the Q down, or the price of the item up. If that is the truth, than so be it, but I wanted to see what you Pros have experienced.

I don't have a lot of experience with couponing at Shopko, but this same thing happened to me during back to school sales. This also happens to be the only time I've ever tried using coupons there. I had $1 q and the item was on sale for $.75 (or around that). They told me the same thing, they couldn't reduce it and I would just have to buy it when it wasn't on sale to use the coupon!! I even told them, the whole reason I was buying that particular item was because of the coupon. The lady actually said something similar to look honey, you can't expect to get it free. I don't remember her exact words but I was shocked. I haven't shopped there since.

BTW... sorry I don't have any actual info to give you. I couldn't find their coupon policy on their site either and let it drop at that. I hope you do actually find out the corporate policy from someone. The line they fed you sounds bizarre. At least mine just said I can't do that.

Kroger here will not take coupons if its more than the item cost. I think many stores do that. They should have jsut said that instead of making up a story about nto getting the money back for the q

So I did hear back, and they will adjust the price of the Q down to the amount of the clearance item. The lady that called me was very friendly, and I went into the store the next morning and had no problem at all when I tried it again. Cashier had no problems entering it in that way. They were really on the ball. Thumbs up for Shopko!!
