Question on Buy 2 Get 1 Free Offer on Candy Bars

Shaws has Hershey candy bars B2G1F. I have coupons for Hershey Special Dark and Milk Chocolate B1G1F. What is the best I can do with this deal? I have such a hard time wrapping my head around this type of deal.

Buy 6, and use 3 coupons. 2 are free from Shaw's B2G1 sale, and 3 are free from your B1G1 coupons. Pay for 1, get 6.

These ones always mess me up too.

So let's break it down

First the store deal: B2G1 free
1. Milk Chocolate - pay regular price $.89
2. Special Dark - pay regular price $.89
3. Special Dark - FREE with store deal

now add the B1G1 equation

1. Milk Chocolate - pay regular price $.89 still have to pay for this one
2. Special Dark - pay regular price $.89 but coupon will make this one free
3. Special Dark - FREE with store deal and this one remains free

so for every three bars, it's like a buy 1 get 2 free scenario. Except that the coupon has a max value of .85 so if your store is like mine and bars are 89¢ you'll end up paying 93¢ for 3 bars.

I think you'd do better using more b1g1's but you've got to make the quantities work and I can't do that this early in the AM.

I'll try to break it out using 3 B1G1 coupons on 2 B2G1 deals since that would equal 6 bars all together, after I'm more awake.

My sister had told me it was Hershey candy bars but when I got to Shaws, Hershey's candy bars weren't on sale, Mars brand were. So, hopefully the Hershey's candy will be on sale before the coupons expire.

I always have problems with these kinds of deals also. It confuses me so and I work in finance ;)
