Default Shaws: Contacting the State Consumer Protection Department About the Ad Errors

So I am finally digging through a list of e-mails I need to write and got to the point in the list about contacting the State Attorney General about the repetitive and grossly negligent advertising practices that create an error or more every week which is always decided against the consumer. I figure I'd put the link for the states I've contacted (direct to the form where possible) as well as the other states listed in the Who's Who thread so that others might do the same.

    For Maine:
Office of the Maine AG: Consumer Complaint Form

    For NH:
    NH Department of Justice (NHDOJ)

    For Mass:
Contact Us by E-Mail - OCABR

    For Vermont:
    Consumer Complaint Form

For Rhode Island (pdf file you need to print and mail or fax):
    http://www.riag.ri.gov/documents/con..._complaint.pdf

    For Connecticut:
    DCP: Complaint Forms and Procedures

I outlined how every week the ad has errors which are settled in a manner which is the least generous to the customer. I also mentioned how their own coupons are often misprinted (the online ones have had contradictory expiration dates) and the in-ad coupons can't decide if they are store or manufacturer, etc.

I'm not sure if they will do anything about it, but I'm a big believer in paper trails.

Awesome! Well I'll gladly write one for MA when I get a chance but it might be a little while. I actually don't have as many problems with "errors" as just non-complete information/not specific ads where you're scratching your head trying to figure out what's included. Not sure that's going to ever get resolved.

I got a reply back from one of them that "accidents" are considered oversight not intentional. My reply back about at what point oversight becomes negligent by intent hasn't been answered yet. lol

Did you get any response back?
Mistakes considered oversights when they are not happend as often as they have here AND resolved in consumer's favor. In our stores managers are not as hostile towards those type of oopses, but the corp. need to hire better compliance people.

Nope, the response I got was from the state of ME, and they never replied to my reply. NH never responded to my inquiry. Apparently they really don't care.
