QUESTION Has anyone else noticed?

I have noticed the last couple of weeks my Shaws has become a little deceptive in their displays.

Last week: The Arm & Hammer big bottle was B1G1 and had the shaws coupon for $1 off 2. On an end of aisle display my shaws put the big bottles on the top shelf with the B1G1 sign and then the four shelves below had the smaller bottles (which were not on sale). If you didn't catch it you would be paying for 2 small bottles. They did the same thing with the bread crumbs, putting the larger ones at the end of the aisle.

This week: I went yesterday and they have the 2 lb (I think) big box of pasta with no price value on the end display (smaller boxes on the top shelf). There was a gentleman stocking the display and he said that he was told to put these larger boxes on the end of the display and he didn't know the price. The shaws IP coupon for $1 off was for the 1lb box (by the way I got four boxes of pasta..it rang up at .80 per box, used the $1 off coupon for a bonus .20 per box so I can't complain about my deal).

Is this happening at any other stores?

I dont know... But my one dollar off pasta rang up at .01 (one cent).

As if it was expired... But it was not.

They had to manually put it in... and yes, you make .20/box :)

pasta eh?

I dunno I've always had issues with them mistocking the endcaps when they run out or don't have enough to fill it properly. Since I've made friends with the head stock boy in Dover I just ask him to price check it for me with his hand scanner thingy. Or I don't buy off the endcap.

I think that maybe you are just noticing it more. Most companies do this type of advertising. They are, after all, in it to make money. So as a consumer, it is our job to check the details of the deals and get the right thing.

This "technique" is intentionally misleading the customers and I have forced several Shaw's to give me the items free under price accuracy policy (and state law). One store in particular is very nasty about doing this sort of thing, at least once a month I catch them up.

lol, we caught Target on that a couple months ago. The four pack Cokes in glas bottles were on the 1.49 2ltr endcap (more than would be randomly left by a customer). We bought three for that price and they manager about popped a gasket right there.

I caught some of these mismatches myself. A grocery manager in 1 store volunteered a higher non-sale item to me at posted sale price, in other occasions I had to insist.
