Default Box Tops on E-bay for over face value?!?

I thought I had seen it all, but Box Tops going for over face value on E-bay? Why? Am I missing something????

I am a coordinator for our homeschool group and thought I was on top of things, we had over $350 for our first mailing and I thought that was good for our small group, but I don't know. Maybe we should start selling them on e-bay if it brings in more money?

Tell me, what am I missing????? I need to be in the know!

Isn't it crazy? The parents who over-spend getting the most btfe's so their child can win whatever the prize is..... I'm sure the school's would MUCH prefer a cash donation for the amount of money that they're willing to over- spend on btfe!!!

Well...actually...the school I graduated from almost 15 years ago has certain teachers that will give "extra credit" to students who bring in BTFE's. Wish they did that back when I was in school.

Think of it as parents "buying" their kids good grades.

Perhaps they're too lazy to cut them themselves.....so they are willing to pay extra for the convenience of not having to cut them??

I guess, even though I wouldn't do it, maybe they are doubled or tripled...so there is a reason to the madness.

But i just do not get the gift card thing. I just cannot see that...that is worth it to save $3.00's KWIM. I've always wondered if there is something I don't know...that would make someone spend $97 bucks on a $100 gift card.
