Btfe/clfe help OK, just need some advice.
I live in a small community. My schools (elementary and highschool) are signed up for btfe and clfe. For btfe they are pretty much in last place for the amount they have earned.
Goal of btfe-$247 total earned is $0
No goal for CLFE-total in account -125 points in CLFE account (now mind you i am just a family daycare provider and I have 10,059 in my account) If i could, i would transfer my earnings to the school, they need it.
I don't even know who the coordinator is for these accounts. I am thinking of calling the school and figuring out what incentives there are to bring the points to the school. QponClippinQueen just collected $506.60 worth (5,066 points) here on HCW Thats one person collecting and making a difference.
I just need ideas on what I should do. I would really like to see our kids benefit from these programs.
I thought of calling the school to see who the person in charge is and giving he some ideas. The only ideas i have come up with are for her/the school to
1. Do a contest to collect btfe and clfe. I could be a school wide contest for one big prize or a classroom contest or even a grade contest to see who can collect the most.
2. The coordinator/school can send notes home with students letting the parents know what was actually bought with the points we all have contributed as well as updates on the amounts of points collected throughtout the school year.
Any ideas from all you wonderful people would be great! I am hoping to help the school reach their goal and beyond. I am hoping to hear your great ideas before I give the school a call.

Re: Btfe/clfe help I fixed that. so it says clfe. Daycares can't do BTFE but they can do CLFE.. They school has 125 clfe and NO BTFE.
Re: Btfe/clfe help Kat, I know one of the schools around here does a pizza party for the class that brings in the most BTFE and some hold contests for prizes. The school could probably even get a local store to donate something for a prize. Sending home a mass mailing is always a good idea because there are probably a lot of parents who don't have a clue that the school needs them or even what they are. HTH

I personally dont give mine to our school... last year they bought a digital camera. I have a friend whos kids go to a small Christian school who uses them to buy gym equipment and such, I think thats more important then cameras.
Here is what NOT to do! Our school sent home a packet, explaining the program, and asking parents to buy things with BTFE on them... then they printed off some coupons from coupons.com ... and PHOTO COPIED them and sent the copies home!! Dorks!
Re: Btfe/clfe help You can find your coordinators name on the website
Just log in and go to the progress tab. That will show your school's progress and there is a link to email coordinator. When you do that, it should list your school's coordinator name.
It is possible there is no new coordinator for the school. Also, keep in mind the BTFE is ALWAYS behind on reporting how much the school actually has. It takes MONTHS after you submit the btfe for them to actually update that site.
If you have the school's id number for btfe, there is a way to check if there are any pending entries that does not show on that main website.
Our school doesn't make alot of money(they are really small ~ 75 students) but we made about $300 last year from btfe . With it they bought playground equipment and the staff at the school are GREAT about reminding parents about btfe and having them bring them in. You might need to talk to the school to see if they even have a coordinator and if not, you could volunteer.

Re: Btfe/clfe help Oh wow, i just got off the phone with the school. They need some serouse help....i think. The office lady is pretty sure they don't do clfe because they couldnt get enough. I wasnt able to talk to the girl that does the btfe directly, she wasnt available to talk to. I am hoping that I can help out in some way to get these programs going again for them. I will keep ya'll posted.
Re: Btfe/clfe help ok. Received a call back fromt he school. The secretary from the main office called. I was hoping to talk to the coordinator herself. They do both programs which is a plus. I would like to get in direct contact with the women though. At least I know her name and go through the automated service and try to get in contact with her. I would like to be able to help her get the number of donations up by telling her about all of the great Ideas you guys have given me. I would email the coordinator through the website, but I am not sure how often those are checked. Thanks for all your help guys. I guess now its time to make a goal for collecting a certain amount and get my butt in gear.
