Pretty sure the policy says:
"No IP coupons for FREE product." This does NOT mean "a coupon that makes the product free after doubling" - it means a coupon that says "good for one FREE _____" (these are usually fraudulent).
Policy says other stuff too, but it's not pertinent to my point.
I don't remember any sort of coupon # limit for any kind of coupon (IP or not, value etc) If it's not stated on that policy, then they shouldn't be able to limit you.
The guy I talked to in Consumer Affairs never asked me what kind or how many coupons I was using and never mentioned any kind of policy on limits.
When I went in a few days ago to get my Steamers, I used 8-9 IPs (in 1 trans) on them - no problems. Again, I picked a young cashier, they tend to be less nit-picky. :) (For the record, I have access to multiple computers.)
Lurkergirl & MotherofMolly, I'm assuming you're both shopping the Peoria store (& not Pekin)?
I'll try to read the coupon policy again next time I'm in there just to make sure it says what I'm recalling. | yeah peoria store...at that time (hubby just recently switched shifts, so shopping times for me have changed) i was going at 6am in the morning...had the same two people working....both were totally into coupons but both had the same limits. guessing that was the manager on duty's stipulation....but now that i have been going later in the day, i found a young kid and an older w/m that do not follow that early morning limit. i used 3 select harvest q's with no problem.
i like to leave plenty for everyone else too!
i have been to pekin but only once or twice.
rumor is, they are building a schnucks waaaayyy out knoxville

| Re: Update within! - Peoria, IL Schnucks refused to double my Qs Lurkergirl & motherofmolly, if you feel up to it and are willing to "get your hands dirty", I'd encourage you to "take on" the staff that are giving you trouble. It just isn't right for them to make up their own policies. Ask to speak to the manager and if he's not there, write a letter or make a call. All politely of course! :) We'll get them trained eventually. :)
I had to educate Kroger (Washington) last week on their own policy too. :) The store manager & super on duty had never seen this Kroger IP policy Kroger and were saying they couldn't accept an IP BOGO. They came around since I had the policy with me.
Apparently we're getting a HyVee in Peoria too, over near the Evergreen Plaza (Lake St) (not IN that plaza but I don't know the name of the plaza across the street...the one with Bergner's in it.)
This is according to a PJStar article awhile back...

This is according to a PJStar article awhile back... | kroger in washington has a super duper store manager. i talked to him over one of his day cashiers not taking my coupons and telling me how long it takes to ring in a coupon over and over. he was not happy and said he uses coupons too. i am surprised he gave you a problem
schucks has become my favorite store. i had one cashier (mary) not sure if she could take my coffee winetags last week...she and i have been thru this road before but she forgot...i waited for the head cashier and she said "yes we can take them"...cashier wasnt sure as they are the ones that have napn in illinois....i actually go there more than any other store!

| Re: Update within! - Peoria, IL Schnucks refused to double my Qs Hyvee will be here by summer? Sweet! A new store to learn...though I'm not sure my store binder/organizer has room for another store section!
Hmm, for some reason, I thought the Washington Kroger store manager was a woman. Oh well. Washington Kroger is just awesome. I picked up some John Freida Root Awakening they had on clearance there last night. I had $2 off Qs, items were marked $2 each and apparently I had 1 $2 electric Q too... There's nothing quite like the high of being paid to take something off their hands, kwim?
Okay, self, enough about Kroger...this is a Schnucks thread after all. :)

| Re: Update within! - Peoria, IL Schnucks refused to double my Qs harperjn, I'd urge you to call Schnucks Consumer Affairs and absolutely report this store for undoubling your Qs, especially right after it occurs. That way, they can deal with it right away. If you can, try to remember who was the guilty party or what register you were at or time of day you checked out. This may help them determine who's mis-educated. Telephone: (314) 994-4400 or (800) 264-4400
The guy I talked to (Brett) was extremely nice & helpful. If this store gets reported enough, hopefully the corrections will trickle down to re-training the staff. In my opinion, it's just false advertising to state on the store flyers "We double Qs up to $1.00" and then to manually un-double them in the register, especially since the register has automatically already allowed it!
For all our sakes, please don't let them get away with it! :)
I agree, Washinton Kroger is so much better about Qs, but they don't double anything higher than .50 so some Qs I just have to take to Schnucks. Also, Kroger rarely puts certain products as low on sale as Schnucks does (Green Giant Steamers for example) so I'll fight as long as Schnucks Consumer Affairs says I'm right. :)
