Re: Does your Save-A-Lot have clearance bread for 25 cents? I wish. Usually our save-a-lot has the best deals on clearance items near the rear of the store, and occasionally at the front of the store. Watch their prices, too as Save-A-Lot is higher than some other local chains in my area on specific items like splenda, silk soymilk, etc.. Their best deals usually are their store brand generics, canned veggies, fruits and veg (bananas especially) and other staples here and there.
For example, ours had the big cans of chase & sandborn coffee for $4 each last week, so I snagged two cans. Bananas at 33 cents a pound, canned veggies starting at 47 cents, etc.
I would definitely stock up on more bread at that price if it goes on sale again. Shop in the mornings as that's usually when they put out the clearance items, before anyone else has a chance to buy them up.
I've also gotten phone surveys on my save-a-lot recipts for a free loaf of bread if you call in and spend the five minutes pushing buttons on your shopping experience. The computer will give you a code you can write on your recipt and take it back in for a free loaf of bread on your next trip. |
