Save-A-Lot ~ What does everyone buy,

at Save A Lot? I haven't been there in a couple of years and am thinking of going today. Just wondered what the good deals will be. LOL

I don't go there very often...

The last time I went I bought 3 packs of Luvs diapers only because there was a great rebate on them through SAL.

My sister and her hubby do a lot of their shopping there. They really like the meat and produce. Haven't tried neither though....sorry.

I haven't been to a Save A Lot in 3 years and I have one five minutes away! The meat and produce quality are awful at the store by my house. I had to return the meat 2 x's and then I never bought it again. Now I see some other Sav A Lot's in other towns that appear clean on the outside so they might be better. Mine is run-down looking on the outside. Also I hate the weird name brands that they sell. They do have some name brands but most of them are strange looking and tasting. I might have to check out a better one in another town and see if it is better. Not sure though.

I went one time thinking I would get some good deals. I didn't buy anything. My MIL came with us who can't go anywhere without buying the store did buy a few items. To me the produce looked old and the cans had dust on them. We walked down each aisle numerous times and couldn't find anything. This might just be the store I went to though. It was a smaller store with maybe five aisles.

I go there very seldom, usually just for meat specials. I did find packages of Knorr veg soup mix (for spinach dip) on clearance for .79 and had .50qs. I have heard that they have the Wholly Guacamole salsa's that there are coupons for.

I just watch the sale items each week. If they have a great sale on something I need, I will run in and take a look. My SAL does take coupons but they do not double, so it has to be a good sale that I can use my coupons with.

I have bought their frozen bags of chicken when on sale cheap, but I don't really care for the taste. It could be that I have to thaw the chicken enough to separate it out and then refreeze it?

Right now they have 3lbs of cabbage for $1.00 and 12 pks of pepsi 3/$10.00 and the frz boneless chicken breasts for $1.69 lb.

I bought Pringles for .74 a can a while back. My dh loves Pringles!

They had a sale on Mike Sells chips recently and with a q it made them cheap.

Just watch the flyer for the name brand stuff to go on sale and give it a try.

Cottonelle TP 12 pack for 5.99
Sunny-D for $.99
Capri Suns for dd's lunches $1.47
Downey Fabric Softner $2.99 (big bottle)
Zote Laundry soap $.79 I got 2 of them

Thats where I can get vinegar! I have been trying to find the lowest price on a gallon jug. I use a lot to clean with and use in the laundry. I can't seem to keep it stocked! Thanks for the heads up, I am going to look at my SAL to see if they have it.

Our only store is in a very poor neighborhood but a mix of customers.
It's clean I know this because it always smells like cleaner
Manager's good & employees polite & nice
Not thrilled about loitering in parking lot but there is a McD's, Barber/Nail shop & Chicken Joint in the little strip mall

Green peppers $.49 lb ( Sat cheaper & fresher than my other stores)
10 lb potatoes $1.00
Milk $1.89 gallon
2 Hillshire brand Turkey Kielbasa $2.46 x2= $4.92-$1/2 Q= $3.92 for 2
Rarely ever buy meat.
