Default Re: What does everyone buy,

I go about once a month and stock up on a few things.
The Grissom honey wheat bread is $1.19 a loaf.
I get the generic allergy pills which are very cheap and my dh swears by them.
Their store brand Moose Tracks ice cream is the best we ever had. About $2.79 a carton.
Their store brand 'chex mix' is, in our opinion, better then Chex Mix and you get a big bag.
Their brand of canned diced tomatos are very good and have the different seasonings in them like Hunts.
I get their brand of canned peaches...very good.
Their peanut butter is the cheapest I can find at $1.49 a jar (but I just got Jif for .91 a jar at Winn Dixie so I am stocked).
I also get their frozen pepper and onion mix for when I make sausage and peppers, very good.
Their mouthwash isn't bad either.
That's all I can think of now!
Have a great day!

what i do is if i am not sure i want to buy it i will try one and then if i like it i will by more. but its cheap enough that your not out much money. thats whats nice about sav a lot.

and i agree with the earlier post, the chex mix is really good, better then name brand.

If you use canned evaporated milk for coffe, baking, of just emergencies you can get the Coulburn Farms brand for .79 a can. I use this in my coffee and is by far the cheapest. Walmart brand is .99.

The canned beans are good at .59-.69 depending on variety.

Wylewood canned veggies are good. Not sure of the prices since I buy enough to last for several months at a time.

Default Re: What does everyone buy,

Unless I can get something for nearly-free or free elsewhere, my grocery shopping day begins at Save A Lot! I get many things there on a regular basis:

- canned goods such as soups, broth, and veggies
- chicken (except when the whole fryers are on good sale at Kroger)
- ground beef sometimes has a good price, but we only get it if we run out of homegrown
- chips/cookies/crackers
- potatoes!
- cream cheese, Velveeta (off-brand tho), and sour cream

I will check prices at other stores thru their fliers, and then I will take my GDA Notebook into Save A Lot and compare prices. If there is anything I can get cheaper there, I don't miss out. If it's cheaper elsewhere, then I just pass there and get it at the next store on my trip. :)

I love my SAL, it's always clean and chock full of people.

That price is not always that cheap sometimes it's $2.38. I know it cheaper than other places. If gas goes up again, it will be up over $3.00.

The savalot here is the closest store to my apartment so we make frequent trips but only buying a few things.

LOVE the snowcrab Legs when they hav them in @ 4.99 lb
usually get good last minute deals on porksteaks or chops, also ribs are super cheap. Just have to hit them at the right time. We also purchase milk, orange juice, cheese, vegetables, and of course the vinegar! Havent gotten really good at grocery coupons yet but at least I know where to bring all my cvs plastic bags.
