All their prices have gone up in the last 4 months.
Sometimes I luck into the 90% hamburger meat markdowns when it's ready to expire. I repackage it and freeze it.

Those are HORRIBLE prices! I was at WM today and got milk for 2.79. A head of lettuce there is .78, you should be getting that stuff elsewhere if you can!

It really depends where you live. For example, the price of milk in the grocery stores near me average about $4.19. So The pp's price of milk sounded pretty nice to me. Walmart in my area does not sell milk for $2.79.

It sounds like you live in a much less expensive area the the pp.

Wow! I couldn't imagine having to pay that much for food! Maybe I like where I live after all!

My only "beef" with the SAVs off name brand stuff is that it still is packed with trans fat.
It just kind of shocked me to see SAVs version of things like Tuna "Helper", "Cheez"-Bits, saltine crackers, chips, most everything packed with trans fat still.

We have another discount grocery store that you may have heard of called UGO- United Grocery Outlet. Their off brand items have no trans fat. Messy the store may be at times but apart from cleanliness, freshness, this was next concern on my list.

ITA I hate Sav-A-lot and I think it smells bad in there. The name brands are very weird. lol and taste just as bad as they sound lol

I have a UGO also. Sometimes it has good food deals, and sometimes it is horrible! It is always dirty though, but it is cleaner than it used to be. I and alot of other people have complained about it. I had complained and was told ALOT of people did too. lol Well it is getting better so I guess that's a good thing.

Our sav a lot is new. I love the off brands, breads, chips. Helps with my budget a lot. And every once in a while you get a survey on your receipt and gets you a free item. Cant beat that.

Yeah, I started noticing that after I posted esp. those little sandwich cracker packs. I rarely shop there anymore...not that I won't again, just that I haven't in a while.
