ISO: recipe for Sauce/Gravy For Beef Tips
Last night I cooked some sirloin beef tips on the grill and once they were done DH made the comment that they would be good over rice but needed something. I think that something would be moisture!
Any ideas of what I could put these in so they can go over rice or noodles?
I did grill these with onions and mushrooms. (didn't have any peppers)

Mother of 4 just trying to make it day to day

Re: ISO: Sauce/Gravy For Beef Tips
Well, when I make a piece of meat on the grill, that normally means that I would not have any meaty goodness in a pan to make a sauce base out of, so something I will do instead is to make a roux (I'm thinking for this amount of "sauce" I would do two tbsp butter and 2 tbsp flour) and then add a can of beef broth slowly and whisk it into a loose sauce and then add a can of cream of mushroom soup. Just let it bubble away for a few minutes until it looks like sauce. I'm not even sure that the roux would be needed, but it's what I am used to doing lol! And I have also tried making a sauce with just the broth and a roux, that did not taste good. I suppose if I added a dash of W sauce, and a heavy pinch of salt and pepper and reduced it down, it would have been much better, but I did not have the time....
So there are some sauce ramblings lol!!!

You can also take a can of cream of mushroom soup, put it in a pot, add some worcestershire and a little milk, let it simmer for a bit, add the tips, let it simmer a bit more and it's done. I wouldn't add any salt but you could add other flavored seasonings that your family likes. You can let it cook on low for an hour or so to let it smooth out even more.
Adding them to spaghetti sauce would be good too.

I think a basic beef gravy would work nice too.
I like using the Lipton Onion Soup mix, 2 cups of water, and thicken with a bit of cornstarch pre-mixed with water.
If you want less salt/seasoning (not sure how your tips are seasoned), you could do a basic gravy of beef broth thickened with cornstarch pre-mixed with water and maybe a touch of salt and pepper.
On another note, you just made me hungry! lol
