Default Re: So can anyone tell me why I should shop at Sam's Club?

I just got my membership as a mystery shopper. It was worth it. If you need to buy in bulk definately. If you can split the food up with another family, better. Sometimes the extra will go to waste if it's only for yourself. Bargains on name brand clothing and sneakers, like Nike and Reebok for $20 a pair, you cant even get them that cheap at the fleamarket around here. My father thought a box of 5 pkgs. of italian spaghetti for $5 was a good deal. Have you noticed pasta prices have gone up? I noticed milk and eggs are cheaper, and coffee. I love the food demonstrators and trying the food. And the food area near the checkout is cheap, like $2.50 for two slices of pizza and a large drink. It's always fun when I go there, but I always spend alot.

Also, I love the look of the rings in the jewelry department. Beautiful.

I guess it just depends on what stores are in your area. Where I live, it IS less money for the following things: (I price check it every month before I go stock up- I have 5 kids in my family)

Whole Wheat Loaf Bread 2/$3.02
Pancake Mix
All of your spices, Olive Oil, Vanilla, Chicken Buillion, etc...
Rice
Milk
Apples, carrots, bananas, grapes, chopped romaine lettuce (the only thing my kids will eat!)
Infant formula (we do not need this now, but their brand is really great price!)
Chicken
Hamburger meat
Kids Vitamins (they only like the gummies and I can never find coupons!)
Ravioli
Frozen peas, frozen mixed veggies (bird's eye 5 lbs bag $4.26 each!)

We do not need to split this stuff with anyone because we go through a LOT of food. LOL I spend about $200 a month there. It saves about $50 or so over Super Target and Walmart. So it is worth it to me.

plus if we CAN get babysitters for our crew, it is a place where dh and I can eat for under $5.

I agree with most of the items others have posted. I can't beleive so few mentioned the Rotisserie chicken...it is the best I've had, $4.97 and it's nearly twice as big as the supermarket ones. I can't roast a chicken at home for that price especially with natural gas prices.

I have an Epson as well..not the mac daddy like you, but I buy all my ink at Sams.

Which model do you have, curiously.

And OfficeMax does not take Epson cartridges for recycling.

We spend more than $35 each time we have to change all four cartridges, so if these warehouse stores offer a significant savings, it would be worth it just for ink cartridges alone. I guess I'll use one of those day passes for Sam's that they've had in Parade recently and check it out. Thanks for the tip!

Is this the same pizza that Walmart sells for around $6.50? It's a huge pizza to take home and bake. The ones at my store are located near the deli in a clear wrapper. It seems like it says "Sams" on it.

My husband has a membership through work, so I take it for granted. We use to have to drive across town to go and when I started couponing it didn't seem worth it. But... we have recently got a new Sam's about 5 minutes away and we go there regularly for certain items. We always buy heavy whipping cream (1.50 less than Publix), eggs, milk and trash bags from there unless there is a deal going on somewhere else. We also buy from there if we run out of something and it is in between sales elsewhere. We use to not be able to go into the store without spending $100-$200, but since I have found couponing, I can get out of there with only 1 item if needed. Plus it is fun to shop at Sams.

I split the membership with my Dad.

We get:
pork tenderloin - from 1.48-1.68/lb cut into chops
whole chickens - 77c/lb
pizza - have them heat it, that way you don't need to
jugs of water
stuff in the clearance corner for gifts - 3 years in a row I've found the "perfect" Christmas gifts for my sister
DH's allergy medicine - the Member's Mark equivalent of Claritin
