I just remembered...
We bought our couch and loveseat from there a couple years ago. They are leather and were much more affordable than anywhere else we looked. The have held up really well so far.

We also bought an awesome leather recliner for like $200 bucks. It was the last one on clearance and it was originally like $400. It is so nice, nothing compared to our other leather recliner we bought at the furniture store for $200.

DH likes to wear plastic gloves when he handles raw chicken. We buy the large boxes of them (the ones for food service) there. I'm not sure how the price compares, but we're still using the boxes we bought over a year ago.

I picked up 12 small white/orange pumpkins to decorate my table for fall. They were a little less than $8, and they look great!

i "purchase" my membership by mystery shopping. and you also get reimbursed for a small purchase. otherwise for my family it is a waste of $35

Membership is $40 a year. If you split it with someone else that is a steal. I print so many photos that in itself pays for the membership.

I am also buying my laminate flooring there it has the same warranty and is the same quality as Pergo and Armstrong but under a different name. It will cost me half of HD oe Lowe's.

PS3 are like $80 cheaper there and that is what my DH wnats for Christmas.

So glad this thread was posted. I haven't been into a Sam's since I started couponing, having been sucked into the "bulk doesn't mean savings" mentality. I think I really DO get some good deals at Sam's though. Since the free Electrasol this summer, I haven't seen any great dishwasher detergent deals, and the liquid Cascade at Sam's is only around $8-9 for a BIG bottle. Also, I get 36 bottles of Aquafina water for $4.36. Since I never have water coupons, that's better than the 24 pack for $3.99 at the grocery store. I also like to get the Perdue boneless skinless breast for $2.49/lb when I can't find it on sale anywhere else. Like others have mentioned, also trash bags....and Bigelow green tea!

Default Deals that you can't beat by couponing elsewhere...

Can anyone recommend items that Sam's sells that you know for a fact you just can't get a lower price on by couponing elsewhere? Or the price per unit is basically the same. For instance:
  • Sam's everday price on Glad Force Flex Trash Bags (my preferred brand) is .18 per bag (70 ct box for $12.88). The best I've been able to do couponing is 25 Hefty bags (similar to force flex) for 4.50 or .18 per bag.
Thank You!

Very good question... I agree with the trashbags completely!

Anyone else?

Great idea for a thread! I no longer live near a Sam's, so can't do regular price checks. The only things that I can think of off the top of my head aren't necessarily things that I buy because they are cheaper, but because I really like them; for example, I buy eggrolls and dumplings there. They are better than the ones I get at Wal-mart but cheaper than what I could get at the grocery store (eggrolls anyway, I have never seen the dumplings elsewhere), and I use them when I make Chinese every couple of weeks.

As for cheapness- when I lived near Sam's, we had pizza from their deli one night a week. We could get the three meat one for about $9 and it was hot when we got home and much tastier than one I could reheat from the grocery store. $9 for a large pizza beats the other pizza places any day!
