Safeway Clearance Deals

My Tom Thumb has the concentrated cans of enfamil for .50/can. They don't expire until may or june but it might be just my store?

Safeway had one flavor of SoBe Life Water clearanced to 50c today so free with the $1/2 coupons. It was Passionfruit Citrus, a yellow bottle.

My Safeway has a TON of stuff clearanced (not "discounted" these have the upc's blacked out, and a little price sticker on them) due to remodeling, but they refuse to take coupons on these items... anyone else have this problem? I have several SW's in my area, but it's only one store that is like this...

Yes, very annoying I have several SW's in my area as well, however I have the same problem as you, because one of my SW's will not accept coupons on clearanced or discounted items. The others could care less it seems, I guess it's one of those YMMV, Safeway can be so fickle it drives me nuts sometimes.

wow that sounds so familiar since it has happened to me more than once. i was just in the store the other day , saw jimmy dean sausage on clearance for 99 cents each. i got two and used the $1/2 blinkies. the cashier wouldn't take the coupon because she "scanned the clearance bar code and not the original UPC" and the coupon beeped. and she told me, " we don't take coupons on clearance items" i just nodded, stared at her blankly and played dumb. (I mean, you gotta be stupid to deal with stupid...)

i just smiled and acted surprised, "wow, that sounds like a new policy, wow didn't know that. can we check with a manager just to make sure?"

at that point, she just grumbled and put the coupon through manually.

see she can chose the easy way or give me a hard time. i really think some people are just jealous about our couponing superpower... beeep beeep

I found 2 lb boxes of (some Italian brand) arborio rice on the clearance shelves for $1 each.

Since the original price was $5.76/box, I bought all 11 of the boxes that they had. The best by dates were not until 9/09-- I think that we will use 22 lbs of rice in the next year and a half. LOL

I actually checked the dates on the stuff they had on the regular shelves-- THOSE were 6/09. So I got 3 months more on boxes that I paid $4.76 less for. My kind of deal.

Loreal 15 SPF moisturizer for $3.00 and I had a $3 q. Its usually $18+
Loreal Vive $1, I didn't have any of the $1 q's on me and the next day they were sold out

Lots of hair dye and boxes of Twizzlers

Lots of Rice and Soy milk (shelf stable, not refrigerated) on clearance for $1. Also a ton of Turkey gravy packets (didn't check the price) and Neon food color for $1.25.

I have been to 3 diffrent safeways and found gerber baby food on clearance. It is the little plastic tubs but in a pack of 6 not 2. There were a few diffrent flavors marked down to .99 from 2.99. I grabed them all. There were also 4 pks of veggies .99 from 2.69 I think. Apple-prune juice was .39c.

At my safeway AKA Pack n save they have the safeway brand of diapers on clearance. The jumbo pack is 3.99 mega is 5.49 (4.99 in some places) and 6.49 for a pack of pullups
