coupon policy question

I went tonight to my Safeway, and for the third time have been hassled about my coupons. Tonight I was told no free product coupons and they would not take my free 12 pack coke from my coke rewards (which if you have seen them would be rather difficult to counterfeit). I read the policy at the managers desk but could not find anything where it said no frees. I've emailed them and called but no return message yet. I have been frustrated there before but I am thinking its the final straw and I am done.

Strange! I don't use coupons at Safeway often but I haven't had a problem.

I think they're either making up that rule for their location or on some Q- KoolAid I used a Free Coke 12pk Q earlier tonite, and the cashier - he went straight to max value and keyed that in.

They may be confusing the no free item coupons if it's an IP (Internet Printable). They'll take a bogo IP, but not a completely free item if it's a printable. I use freebies there all the time. If it's the kind that the company sends you on a sheet of paper, I always leave the whole thing attached so they can see I didn't print it out.

I would have them call a manager over if they give you any more sh**. lol You could also print out the policy from the site and have it with you to show you know what you're talking about.

Yeah, call the manager and if that gets you nowhere then call the corporate customer service number while you are standing at the help desk!

I even think they have a Coke Rewards signup thing on their website!
