Coupons Do you accept Manufacturer Coupons? Manufacturer coupons or special in-store-only Safeway coupons may be redeemed prior to expiration date. Many stores double coupon values, but this is subject to regional competition; check with your local store to learn their specific policies.
What Other Coupons are Available? Manufacturer coupons are frequently available within the store and at the pharmacy counter. Special store coupons may also be available in the ad or in the store; these coupons maybe "stacked" with manufacturers coupons to increase your savings.

Safeway Gas Discounts
Safeway is currently featuring a 10c/gallon discount WYB $50 (before card discounts or coupons), using your club card. While this offer may expire at any time, the gas discount credits are redeemable at any Safeway gas station until 12/31/2007.

How do I receive promotional prices? Use your Club Card, the discount will be automatically applied at checkout
What products are considered exclusionary items for Safeway promotions? Alcohol, tobacco, stamps, event tickets, lottery tickets, gift cards, money orders, sales tax and prescriptions not paid for by the customer. What if Safeway is out of stock on a sales item? Items might occasionally be unavailable during sales. Safeway offers rain checks for items that may be unavailable on the day of your purchase. Rain checks are typically valid for two to four weeks after issuance. If an item remains out of stock, customer service desk will be able to reissue the rain check.
Returns Can I return unwanted items? If you are dissatisfied with an item, return it to the store or contact customer service center for replacement or refund. Note that certain items, including alcoholic beverages, baby formula and tobacco products, cannot be returned or refunded.

Grocery Miles What are Grocery Miles? Grocery Miles is a way for you to earn miles with an airline while doing your weekly grocery shopping. Safeway has partnered with United Airlines to participate in their frequent flyer program. For every $250 you spend in eligible purchases, you will earn 125 airmiles from United.
How will I be notified when I have earned a set of airmiles? Once you reach your $250 threshold (you can keep track on your receipts, as the accrual towards each set of $250 shows up there) you will receive a message on your receipt letting you know you have reached the $250 mark. Your miles will be posted to your account within the next three weeks after that message.
My airmiles are showing on my receipt; however they are showing a negative. Am I getting proper credit? Yes, you are getting proper credit. The reason why the accrual is showing a negative is because the system inadvertently credited you a set of airmiles too early. The negative is simply catching up to the amount of miles we have credited you in advance.
I am accruing airmiles on my receipt; however I do not know what my mileage number is. Can you provide that to me? Per our privacy policy, we are not authorized to release your mileage number to you. Please contact the airline and they will be able to locate your account and provide you with that number.
How many miles do I need to take a flight? The redeem rules vary by location and airline. Please contact the airline for which you are accruing airmiles for this information.
Upromise What is Upromise? Upromise is a new way to save for college. When you join for FREE, companies contribute a percentage of your spending into a college savings account for your loved one.

How much do you charge for delivery? Typically, the fees are $4.95-$9.95 per delivery. However, our delivery fees vary slightly depending on location, delivery window timeframe, and order amount. You can see the delivery fee for your area when you select your delivery time as you check out.
Is there a minimum amount that I need to order? You need at least $50 in your cart before you can schedule our delivery service.
Where do my products come from, and how do you deliver them? We hand-select all your groceries from a Safeway store local to your area. Products are placed in temperature-controlled trucks to keep them fresh. Our drivers will deliver your order to your doorstep at the time you select.
How do I start shopping online? There are three main ways to shop at Safeway.com 1) Shop by Aisle : You can browse our entire online store through the virtual "aisles", which are organized similar to the aisles in your local store. 2) Shopping History : All the items that you have purchased using your club card, whether in-store or online are saved in your Shopping History. You can easily add the items that you want from your Shopping History to your cart. 3) Express List : Enter the names of the products that you want to buy into the express shopping list. Our search feature will find the best matching products for you.
What if I have specific instructions for my personal shopper? You can indicate product specifications (such as "green bananas", "firm tomatoes", "thick cut deli meat" etc) using the "Request to your Personal Shopper" feature. We will make every possible effort to meet your expectation.

How do I pay for my online order? We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover credit cards, and debit cards with a Visa or MasterCard logo. We do not currently accept any government subsidized program cards (i.e. Oregon trail or EBT cards), cash, Safeway Gift Cards, personal checks or store charge accounts.
Can I return products if I need to? Yes - you have the option of returning unwanted products with your driver by contacting our customer service center. Customer satisfaction is our top priority, and we will ensure that you receive a full refund or credit for the items that you return. Some exceptions apply. Registration Do I need to register/create an account to browse your site? No. If you just want to see the weekly specials in your area or look through our site, you can enter your zip code and start browsing.
When should I register? You will only be prompted to create an account if you add products to your cart or want to schedule a delivery. We collect the information that we need to determine service availability, to fulfill your order, or to contact you if there's a problem. We only ask for your contact information to create your account. Credit card information is not needed until you are ready to check out.
How do I register for a Safeway.com account? Click on the Sign in link at the top of the page. On the right - hand side of the page, under "Create Account", enter your zip code and click "Sign Up". You'll then need to provide your name, address, contact telephone number and a password, but you don't have to enter your credit card details at this stage. During registration, you can also view the full terms and conditions of our online shopping service.
Do I need a Club Card to register for online shopping? You will need a Safeway Club Card to shop at Safeway.com, but don't worry if you don't have one, because a Club Card number will automatically be given to you when you register. This virtual Club Card number will enable you to shop online and give you the same great specials, as you will find in the store.
If you already have a Safeway club card, you can enter it during registration. You can see all the items that you have purchased using your club card, whether in-store or online, in your Shopping History.
My Account How do I sign in to my account? If you already have an account, just start shopping. We won't ask you to sign in until you try to add something to your cart or try to view your account information. You can sign in by entering your e-mail address and password when you click the Sign In link at the top of the page. If you don't have an account, you can get one by clicking on the Register link. Or you can browse our online store by entering your zip code on the Sign In page.
How do I change the information on my online account? To change personal information, such as your phone number, email address or account password, click on My Account at the top of any page. After you enter the new information, click the Update button located at the bottom of the page. To change your address, click on the 'Click here to change your address' link. Please note: you must change your address before adding any items to your basket to ensure product availability. Changing your address after loading your cart may cause you to lose items in your cart as we might need to fulfill your order from a different store.
How can I update my email preferences? From time to time you may be contacted by Safeway.com regarding special promotions and exclusive offers. You can manage your subscriptions to such communication by clicking on the "My Account" link at the top of any page and un-check the box that states 'I wish to be contacted by Safeway.com regarding specials, offers and promotions.' You can also opt-out of email communication from the unsubscribe link on the email message.
Can I save my credit card information so I don't have to enter it every time? Yes, you have the option of storing the information or entering the credit card details each time you checkout. If you choose to save your credit card information on your account, you will be asked at checkout for the CVN (Card Verification Number) of the credit card and the billing ZIP code of the credit card for security reasons.
Can I see orders that I have placed in the past? You can view past and current orders by clicking on Order History at the top of any page. You will be able to view order number and delivery date of any orders placed within the past 6 weeks.
How to Shop Online How do I get started? If you are shopping with us for the first time, click the "Shop Online" tab to get started. If you have an account, sign in with your user name and password. If you don't have an account, you can register for one by clicking on the Register link.
You do not need to register if you just want to browse through the site. Simply enter your zip code on the right-hand side of the Sign in page and start looking for products using the Search tool, or the Express List, Shop by Aisle or Shopping History features.
How do I search for products? You can search for products in a variety of ways. The simplest way is to enter the product you want in the search box at the top right corner of every page. If you have a shopping list, you can type in all the products at once using the Express List tool and click the "Find Now" button. You can also browse through products using the Shop by Aisle feature.
Is there an easy way to shop for items that I frequently buy? All the items that you have purchased using your club card, whether in-store or online are saved in your Shopping History. Note that if you entered your existing Club Card number during registration, all of your past Safeway purchases will be loaded to your Shopping History within 48 hours. You can view a list of purchases from your last online order or the complete history of all purchases with your club card.
How do I add items to my cart? When you see a product you want, enter the desired quantity in the number box, or use the up and down buttons to increase or decrease the amount. Then, click the Buy button next to the item, or the Add all to Cart button if you want to add several items at once. If you would like to leave a note about the product for your personal shopper, click the "Request to your Personal Shopper" link located directly under the Buy button for every item (example: select green bananas only). Please note: On weighted items, the estimated weight will be automatically calculated as you enter a quantity.
How do I remove items from my cart? To remove a product from your cart, click View Cart. You can adjust the desired amount by changing the quantity in the number box, or by using the up and down buttons. Then, click the Update button. You can update quantities of multiple items on this screen and then click on the Update All to Cart button located at the top or at the bottom of the page.
Can I change or cancel my order after I have checked out? Yes, you may change or cancel your order up until 4:30 AM for an order scheduled for delivery between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM or up until 9:30 AM for an order scheduled for delivery between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM. To change your order, click on the Order History link at the top of any page. Click on the update button to the right of the order you wish to make changes to. Select from three options: Change delivery time, Change order, and Cancel order. Please note: coupon codes cannot be entered once an order has been initially submitted.
How can I speed up a slow connection? When viewing items in Search or on a Shelf, you may choose to hide product images. This may help shorten the time it takes to load one of these pages. To hide product items, click the Hide Images button on the upper left-hand side of the page. You can turn them back on by clicking the Show Images button on the upper right-hand side of the page.
Prices and Promotions Will I pay the same prices online that are in your stores? You'll find most of the same great prices and promotions online as in your local store. Our goal is to keep our prices low while giving you choices in how you shop. Some special offers, such as manager specials, etc., are limited to in-store purchases only. Safeway Club Card specials vary from store to store. You will receive the prices and promotions applicable from your online store on the day of delivery. Please note: Safeway.com does not issue rain checks.
How do I know if an item is on sale? Special prices are indicated when a Club Card icon is shown with a product. Click on the icon to see the details of promotion. Please be sure to pay close attention to sale end dates. During checkout, if the sale price of any item in your cart expires before your selected delivery date, you will be notified. Club Card discounts will be deducted from your order total the day your order is processed and delivered. You can see all Club Card specials in the Online Savings section.
I received a promotion code. How do I use this code? If you receive a special promotion code, enter the code during the checkout process. The promotion will be reflected in your order total. Please note: most promotion codes have certain restrictions that apply.
Do you accept Manufacturer Coupons for ONLINE purchases? Manufacturer coupons or special in-store-only Safeway coupons are not valid for online deliveries. All coupons applicable to online deliveries will have a promotion code listed on them that you must enter during checkout. Refunds will not be given for promotion codes that were not entered.
What are the other ways to save? You can save $2 off the regular delivery fees by selecting a 4-hour delivery window. We also offer $5 off orders of $150 or more.
Am I eligible to participate in the same promotions or programs when I shop online that are offered to me in the store? Do you offer the same selection online as my local Safeway store? Yes, you will find most of the same items online as you would within one of your local stores. Selection will vary, however, based upon which products are stocked regulary at the local store.

Do you accept bulk orders? Our service is for household delivery only. Therefore, we reserve the right not to deliver items that your local store, where your groceries are selected, deem to be excessive in quantity or not in stock on the day of delivery.

Pharmacy Information Can I have my prescriptions delivered to me? You can have your prescriptions delivered when you have an existing order for groceries scheduled for delivery. You must have a current prescription at a Safeway Pharmacy. You can order your prescriptions from 2 different locations: 1) from the order confirmation page, or 2) if you have an order already placed that is scheduled for a future day delivery, go to Order History and click Update Order. From there select Add Prescription Refills and follow the instructions.
Can I transfer my prescriptions online? Yes. From the home page, select the Pharmacy tab. In the left-hand navigation bar select the Refill or Transfer for Pickup link and follow the instructions to transfer your prescriptions online.
Delivery How do I schedule a delivery? Deliveries are made during two shifts, seven days a week (in select areas). Deliveries for each day are broken down into two-hour or four-hour windows, which you can select when placing your order. Delivery times are based on availability and are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Delivery times cannot be reserved and can only be selected when going through the checkout process.
What times during the day do you offer delivery service? Deliveries are made between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. seven days a week (times vary by store). All Safeway holidays are observed, and no deliveries are made on a Safeway holiday. Orders for same day deliveries must be placed before 4:30 am for deliveries between 10:00 am & 3:00 pm deliveries or before 9:30 am for deliveries between 4:00 pm & 9:00 pm.
By when should I place my order to schedule same day delivery? For a same-day delivery, the Submit button must be clicked prior to 4:30 a.m. (for deliveries 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) or 9:30 a.m. (for deliveries after 4:00 p.m.). Note that delivery slots are based on availability. To check availability prior to starting your order, click on Checkout.
Can I reschedule a delivery after I have checked out? You can change your scheduled delivery time prior to 4:30 am for deliveries between 10:00 am & 3:00 pm deliveries or before 9:30 am for deliveries between 4:00 pm & 9:00 pm. Click on Order History at the top of any page, and locate the order. Click on Change Delivery Time and then select a convenient new time. Note: The Web site requires approximately 5 to 10 minutes in order to update the information permanently. Requests to change a delivery time after the cut off time on the day of delivery will require you to cancel and re-order your delivery.
Can I have deliveries go to different addresses? You can have only one delivery address per account. If you would like to have your order delivered to a different address, you can create a new account or change your current address in My Account before placing an item in your cart. Please note: To create a new account, you will need to use a different e-mail address and Club Card. All address changes need to be made prior to placing an item in your cart. You may want to place an order for someone else. To do so, create a separate account with that person's delivery address. Then, pay using your own credit card.
If I am not home, will you leave the items on my doorstep? We do not leave deliveries unattended, so please arrange for someone over the age of 18 to be present at the time of delivery. If no one is home at the time of delivery, the driver will leave a door tag and return your items to the store for a full refund. If your order contains alcohol, someone over the age of 21 must be present to accept delivery. If your order contains tobacco, someone over the age of 18 must be present to accept delivery. No exceptions are possible.
Do your drivers accept tips? Tipping is not necessary, and our drivers do not accept tips. Our goal is to give you high-quality service at the lowest possible price.
Payment and Receipt What forms of payment do you accept? You can pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover credit cards. Debit cards with a Visa or MasterCard logo are also acceptable. We do not currently accept any government subsidized program cards (i.e. Oregon trail or EBT cards), cash, gift cards, personal checks or store charge accounts.
When will my credit card be charged? Your credit card will be charged for payment on the day of your delivery. If you cancel your order prior to your delivery day, no charges will be incurred on your account. A refund for an unwanted item will be given within 48 hours of the date the item is returned and can be expected to reflect on your credit card within 7-10 business days.
Will I receive a copy of my order after checkout? Once you have checked out, you will receive a confirmation e-mail, detailing all products, quantities and estimated prices related to your order. Your driver will give you a receipt showing final prices when your order is delivered. Please make a note of the order number, in the event of having to contact us.
Why does my order confirmation say that the prices are estimates only? Prices on our web site are estimated due to a number of reasons. Products sold by weight (for example: produce, meat, etc.) have estimated prices. The price you pay will be based on the actual weight of those items at the time your order is picked for delivery. The order confirmation shows estimated prices only and does not include sales tax, CRV and other charges. Depending upon the delivery date you select, prices could vary from the time you place your order and the time your order is delivered, due to sale changes. You will be charged the prices charged in the
If substitutions are made due to product unavailability, where will they be listed on my receipt? If you specified alternatives in your order, the items that were substituted are listed in the Substitution section. The Order Summary section includes the total amount spent on your order, as well as any Club Card discounts you received.
If I return an item with my driver, will I receive a receipt for the credit amount? If you return an item through your driver, a receipt for the refund will be mailed to you within 7 to 10 days. If you have not received your refund please contact our customer service
Returns Can I return unwanted items? If you are dissatisfied with an item when it is delivered, notify your driver, and he/she will return it to the store and your credit card will receive a refund. If your driver is no longer present, please contact our customer service center to help resolve your issue. You can choose to receive a credit on your account toward your next online order, or a credit card refund. Note that certain items, including alcoholic beverages, baby formula and tobacco products, cannot be returned or refunded once you have accepted delivery.
What if part of my delivery is incorrect? What should I do? If you receive an incorrect order, please notify your driver and you will receive a refund if applicable. If your driver is no longer present, please contact our Customer Service department. (Note: To receive a refund you must notify the Safeway.com Customer Service Center within 48 hours from the time of delivery with any issues pertaining to your order.)

Gift Cards Can I order gift cards online? Yes! You may order Gift Cards Online, however you must be within our delivery service area to register and order gift cards online. I purchased a gift card that does not have the balance on it. If you purchased the gift card in a store, the store can replace your gift card. Simply provide the activation and sales receipts along with the inactive gift card to the customer service counter on your next visit! If you purchased the gift card online through Safeway.com, contact our Customer Service department for assistance.
Flowers If I order flowers online, whom am I ordering through? Safeway has partnered with FTD to provide a link to their web site for floral ordering and delivery to anywhere within the United States. All orders placed through this link are processed through FTD, and is not owned or controlled by Safeway. Please consult the privacy and security disclosures on the FTD website for any additional information.
EScrip What is Escrip and how does it work? EScrip is a card registration program. It streamlines the entire fundraising process for non-profit organizations. It requires no advanced purchases or special handling. You can register any or all of your existing grocery loyalty, debit and credit cards for use in the program. Participating national, regional and local merchants will make contributions to enrolled organizations, based on purchases made by you when you use your registered grocery loyalty, debit and credit cards. By using these registered cards at participating merchants, you generate donations based on a percentage of purchases as determined by each merchant or service provider. How can I sign up for Escrip? Customers can go to eScrip's web site: www.escrip.com, and sign up with the school or charity of their choice using the eScrip Coordinator.
Do I live in an area eligible to sign up for eScrip? Currently, we offer eScrip in our Northern California, Phoenix, Vons, Seattle, Portland, Genuardis and Eastern divisions.

When do I have to renew my eScrip elections? As of Fall 2003, the eScrip program now requires that families renew their Safeway (or affiliate) club card every year. You must renew your elections each year between August 1st and November 1st. If families do not renew by the November 1st deadline, each year, their Safeway purchases will not receive credit for contributions from Safeway. After Nov. 1, once the customer does renew, their purchases will again begin crediting from that point forward for contributions. You can either log onto www.escrip.com or call 1-800-801-4973 to renew.
Who do I call if I have problems with my eScrip account? Our Safeway Customer Service Center (877-723-3929) can answer general questions regarding the eScrip program, dispute spending, and resolve any club card issues. eScrip (www.escrip.com) can assist customers with sign up issues, changing the organization they support, renewal issues, and questions regarding the percentage going to their organization.
How and when will I receive my statements? Statements are mailed out quarterly by email or postal mail
Posting about using a coupon in anyway other then what is listed on the coupon is aginst the rules. Even if the manager at the store you are using them at lets you do something diffrent. Please remember this when posting. I don't like to give infractions, but I will if the rules are not fallowed.

I'm not sure if this is the correct thread to post this, but as of a few days ago Genuardi's is no longer giving a .04 per bag credit when you use your own bags. Not sure if any of the other Safeway stores were doing this or not?
