    Thanks in advance
In Store Safeway coupons (I'm assuming you mean the ones that are in the weekly ad) usually have the item limit printed on them.

For example, if it says limit 4 then you only need to present the store coupon once to get the reduced price on all 4 items, but you could also use 4 manufacturer coupons with it.

    Hope this answered the question.

Hello! I'm new here, and I love couponing!

This exact same scenario happened to me yesterday, so I sent a message to the email address listed in the Contact Us section of the Safeway website (business.ethics(at)safeway.com). I was surprised to find a reply in my box this morning!

"The policy for coupon stacking can be found under items 21-23. Specifically, item 23 advises that you can only use one coupon per item. We apologize for the inconvenience that this causes you."

So apparently I can't use an SQ and a MQ on the same item? I've seen several places on the internet that say I can (including this thread). I'm confused! Help?

They must be confused or something, the instore Q most of the time is just giving you a special price for an item, then the Manu Q gives you an amount off. If you add the Store Q to your card online then maybe that will stop the cashier questioning it since then you will only have to present the Manu Q at checkout.

You could reply back to the email they sent and re-emphasize that you meant a Safeway Q and a Manu Q together, not two Manu Q's together. See what they say. I have always been told it is not a problem.

I emailed them back like you suggested. The response I got was another copy of the coupon policy. Ugh.

They did include a phone number to call: 1-877-723-3929, which is Safeway's regular customer service number. So, I called and the woman I spoke with confirmed that you CAN use a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon. Hurray! I wish I could've gotten that in writing though, so I could show the manager next time. The woman did say she'd call my store and let them know to allow MQ's and SQ's on a single item, so at least there's that.

You mentioned adding the store coupon to your card online. How do you do that?

    Thanks!

If you go to the Safeway website, login/signup for the Just For U program. Go to the Coupon Center and there'll be all kinds of eCoupons to load to your card. There are ones here that correspond to the Store Coupons they put in the ad, just select them and they will come off at the register when you use your card. If you don't trust it you can get a printout and take that to the store with you to show them.

There's also Personalized Deals (not available for me) and "Your Club Specials" highlighting stuff you buy frequently that is on sale.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello,

Will Safeway take Target coupons? If so, will they double?

    Thanks!

I don't think Safeway has a policy to match other stores coupons, sorry.

When they list a product on a Daily Deal, they limit you to a certain number of those items at that price. My question is this: does this mean you can only buy any number of items up to the limit in a single transaction or on that day? Another way to ask this question would be: do they track how many of those items you are buying in a single transaction or do they track it on your card? I'm asking because I want more than the limit of 2 on the DiGiorno pizza on Thursday this week (2/2/12).

I think I have read previously that people have returned to the store or gone to another store and bought more on daily deals. I would suspect that it is all YMMV though, since if they intended you to be able to do this then why have a limit in the first place? So it might be more of a problem if you try and split it into two back to back transactions.

Thank you! I think posting a limit does limit the overall purchases of that item in the store as most people wouldn't think to do multiple transactions. I understand the purpose of their limits. However, in this case, two pizzas is only half a dinner for our family. I'm sure they chose this limit expecting that this would be plenty for a family. Thanks again, Tealover!
