Safeway Printable Coupon Policy Change

I was just informed by my local Safeway (Hillsboro, OR) that Safeway will not accept multiple printable coupons. My store will only allow ONE per transaction.

I called Corporate and they said the policy is supposed to be ONE per like item. Meaning only one yogurt and one bologna, etc. If you have two of the same type you have to break it up into multiple trx's.

My local Safeway is only allowing ONE per trx, period.

Hmm. I will have to look into this. (I know you call corp. so I am not doubting you). But I was under the impression that there was no "corp coupon policy". Yet I have not looked into it in a least a year.

Wow, I really hope this isn't everywhere! Would definitely make things a LOT harder.

For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off Printable Coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 will not be accepted. If there are exceptions, we are usually provided an advance notice by the applicable manufacturer upon which we will pass the appropriate savings, if any, onto you.

I don't like this part of it, though. This is just for IP's and not regular insert types, but still.

Just a suggestion here:
Take a copy of this with you to the store! Now that said the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. This week on the Safeway website they have issue a FREE Q. So we will see how they handle this.

When I started to object, he handed me the knew policy in writing from Corp. The reason I called Corp was to verify that it was one per like item vs. one period.

Corp said the reason for the change is because ppl were photo copying them.

I was so mad yesterday when this happened that I missed a few details when I posted the original. Sorry.... It was frustrating, but at least my order was a small one.

I've had no problem using the free strawberry coupon. Other than last week, it didn't come off and I had that fixed yesterday. Didn't look till I got home as I was in a hurry. Check your receipts before you leave, as it seems to be "glitchy". I've used 4 I think. I've printed my limit now, so that's probably it for me.
