Default My crescent roll have metal pieces on them--is this normal?

I got 6 packs during the deal. I opened the first pack and there were bits of foil or metal stuck to all the outside rolls. Didn't want to eat it, so threw away the outside rolls. That left 2 rolls for us to eat, so I opened another pack and the same thing happened. Anybody else have this problem? I've called and she's sending me a coupon for the first pack, but now I've opened 4 of the 6 packs and they have ALL had this problem. Am I just looking to close now and notice what has always been there? Or are these rolls just bad? I'm hoping it's just a fluke. But if I open any more and see this I doubt I'm ever going to buy these again.

Wow, I've never heard of that! You might want to call the store too & let them know what you found. Maybe it's a problem with the whole batch of them.

I've only ever had that problem with an off-brand kind, never the Pillsbury ones.

Strange!

I've seen that before with the crescent rolls, and yes, it's very weird, but it's usually not so much that I can't just pick them off. And it doesn't happen every time either. You'd think they could find a way to prevent it.

(I actually hate it more when it's the other way around and the outside layer of the dough sticks to the inside of the tube and tears everything up.)

Yuck - we do not eat these very often but I would think that was highly abnormal if I openned a package and found that. Sounds like it may not be all that uncommon from other posters. I wonder if it is a storage issue. I have gotten things from stores here in AZ that have been improperly stored in the heat and it has changed the properties of the product. I always go directly to the store with the product so they can see it.

I always have that problem with Pillsbury crescents. I just check them very carefully before rolling or baking and pick out any bits I see. I figured it happened to everyone because it always happens to me and that the problem came from the tearing of the canister while opening, which creates little pieces along the edges that fall off.:shrug7: But it's usually not so bad that I can't pick them out.

I've had this happen to us on several occasions. We also just pick them out. I've had it happen on the Crescent Rolls and the Cinnamon Rolls.. YUCK!

Thanks. At least I know this doesn't ALWAYS happen. I tried picking off the pieces, but there were so many I just gave up. The rolls were really shiny-looking. The next set didn't look as bad, but still, I didn't want to pick off tons of pieces. I think I'm going to open the next 2 rolls in the next week and see if they are the same way. Then I'll only have to call Pillsbury 1 more time. I'm tempted to ask them to send me coupons for something else, though. Do you think they'll do that? I don't think I want to have to deal with this problem again.

I have this problem, too, with the "tubed" products. I've gotten replacement coupons from pillsbury before (but it was because a tube exploded open on the trip from store to home), and it said "Free, any Pillsbury refrigerated product, up to $x.xx," so I don't think you'll have to worry about only being able to use them on crescents or cinnamon rolls.

HTH,

You should take pictures of each roll so you have proof to send them.
