Default Safeway Gas Rewards Program

How does this work? I have seen it on the ad the last few weeks.

For every $100 you spend on most items(no cigs, lottery, gift cards, beer, etc) you got $0.10 off on gas. Accumulate the awards for a quarter(10/1-12/31 right now) and then get a big discount when you cash in! Use the rewards any time or save them and let them add up!

That's really neat! Does it show on your receipt how much you've earned?

Yes, it's shown at the bottom of your receipt.

Actually select gift cards ARE included, like Best Buy, Home Depot and Sears.

Thansk for the post - I have been meaning to look into this. The Safeway that has gas is somewhat far from me so I would need to save up my .10 off rewards to make it worth my time.

SAD Re: Safeway Gas Rewards Program

Be careful, they just changed the power pump reward program! Now you get 1.50 for every $100 you spend, and you only get a pump card after you have accumulated $400 - $600 in Safeway purchases (depending on where you live.) On top of that the card is only good at Arco, BP or ???, also depending where you live.
Where I live we have to accumulate $600 of Safeway purchases and the card is good at Arco. Really not happy about the changes. The previous program was much better. I think they found out they were losing too much money and had to change it. So SAD!:frown:

Ya...I agree. Where I live we don't have either of these gas stations available, including the Safeway pumps and I had 60 cents accumulated and all of a sudden those disappeared and I was beginning from scratch again! I'm pretty pissed!

We didn't have a Safeway pump nearby and dh would never have put "Safeway" gas in his car anyway so the ARCO card is actually much better for us. They give you a gift card with your dollars on it so you can use it at any ARCO between now and the expiration date (1/09).
